    Card/Deck U/B Ninjutsu

Depending on what's going on in the cube I can even see a it as a good incentive to run a half-busted ninja just to get people's eyes up.

    Rasmus Super Retail Draft Cube

Super Retail Draft Like a draft at the FNM, but super charged! https://www.cubetutor.com/viewcube/165010 Summary: I'm building a cube inspired by fun stuff I've seen in retail drafts, but adapted to the cube format. The goal is to have lots of synergistic decks that can be drafted, where...

    Sets Ikoria Inquiry

Probably this is one of the biggest problems with referencing popular culture in a magic card. There's no reasonable way of matching everyone's expectation of how to translate the pop phenomenon into rules text.

    Sets Ikoria Inquiry

Luckily it's still possible to get some sense of what's going in the set with arena and modo.

    Peasant Cube (Working)

curse of predation Have you gotten a chance to play test with this? I'm curious if it's just a little too good and snowbally of an effect?

That might be the case! I also think there's an element of riptiders being maybe especially keen on taking a significant deep dive into the design ideas WotC is currently exploring, and twisting it in fun directions that retail draft can't really go. It sure does feel like we're getting some...

As an aside I'd just like to point out that I find it very fascinating to see how the "cube design space" keeps evolving as Wizards print new sets. I see old posts (some which are my own) stating "this doesn't really work" or "I tried it but.." etc. that definitely are viable ideas now, thanks...

Yeah mill jace is just awful. I'd agree that you want mill probably as a sub theme to a "real" deck. I find blink to be a similar kind of deal, they're fun interactions for a control deck that might otherwise be a bit too dry.

I guess you don't really except race it? I'd imagine one of the strengths of running mill is that you attack from another angle. When it comes to land win cons that's tricky, since it's hard to interact with outside of dedicated cards. I might stay away from that particular card.

Psychic Spiral This is a card that saw play out of the sideboard in that UW 'never gonna die' control deck from RTR-THS standard that also played elixir of immortality. Could maybe work well as a bridge between the self-mill and the aggressive mill?

Thanks for the feedback ya'll. Realistically Storyteller is probably doing what a durdly midrange deck needs, get some tempo back with the life gain and block well until you get to your next untap step.

lotus-eye mystics vs lagonna-band storyteller Another fight, on the same subject. I'm a little torn between the card advantage of lotus eye and the better body and life gain from storyteller. My intention is to use one of these to grab back removal-aura and sagas.

    General Fight Club

Hm, I might just go ahead and run both then ;) And make sure to remember to pack some extra naturalize effects. They even play kinda well together. I might be leaning more towards Courser if I just get to pick one based on my preference for grindier matchups over sudden explosive decks if I can...

Dryad of the Ilysian Grove vs Courser of Kruphix I'm feeling like a cube only wants one 2/4 enchantment creature for 3, but which? I'm looking to support both some kind of GW Enchantment midrange and some G/x "super ramp" decks (UG primarily). I feel like Dryad is maybe better for a super...

Stitched Drake Here's the fixed version! You actually get to jam it, and a 3/4 flier is pretty good in low and medium power cubes.

One work around for the "turn 3 wrath of god" problem would perhaps be to run 5 cmc sweepers like cleansing nova and end hostilities?

No but I mean, is that a good thing for the draft environment?
