General How much do you love Magic right now

Interest is waning, but more due to life changes than Wizards. I've been in Memphis for 8 months now, and I'm still not particularly eager to find a new playgroup. Me and my wife are doing really well here. The change in priorities has been nice for me. I had been feeling like I never had enough...

    Inscho's Graveyard Combo Cube

Good points all around. I really appreciate the input. I suppose what I fear about just running Managorger Hydra is that it will all too often just be a card the Izzet deck splashes, and it won't contribute to shoring up the green guild weaknesses I'm identifying. With just the addition of...

I have nostalgia for proper Rebels, but I much prefer the cmc/power/toughness restricted "rebels" for cube: Recruitment Officer Imperial Recruiter Recruiter of the Guard Militia Bugler Ranger-Captin of Eos Ranger of Eos Collected Company

    Inscho's Graveyard Combo Cube

Looking for ways to spice up green's creature suite. I'm noticing Simic decks being more artifact and turboland strategies than the madness/dredge decks of the past. This is prompted in part by blue's pivot toward spells matters cards like Murktide Regent and away from things like Skaab...

I prefer first printings, personally. I don't really care for foils...that said, the new old-bordered foils don't look like original old-bordered foils. I'd stick with the OG.

I also find that getting from 4 to 6-7 mana is often a more important jump than getting from 5 to 8-9 mana.

This is relative to format speed and the type of boardstates an environment generates imo. Erik's cube is reasonably high powered and relatively fast so I think it's a pretty fair inclusion even if he was worried about feel bads.

Altar of Dementia by a country mile 2cmc >> 3cmc sac outlets. It’s a win-con. It fills your graveyard with more recursive threats, fishes out a Hogaak, or sets up a large Living Death. Fuels a spicy Yawgmoth’s Will or Underworld Breach Phyrexian Altar has always been fringe at best for me.

I really enjoyed Keranos when I ran Rector. Keranos was also a lot of fun to Oath into. Shark typhoon and colossal skyturtle are fun because because they also work well with replenish parallax wave

Erik's "The cool side of Magic" cube

Makes sense, and I figured as much. I do think Pest Infestation would be a good/safe include for your environment fwiw. Yeah, GCC v1 was reasonably high powered, but there wasn’t guild parity, and archetypes were more demarcated. I dropped the power level until I felt that each guild had equal...

Erik's "The cool side of Magic" cube

Prized Amalgam is a lot of fun in a discard/recursion heavy environment. In my cube, I find that you often don't need to be able to hard cast it. I've been treating it almost like a pseudo colorless card. With less discard in your environment, it might prove to be a little narrow in the long...

If you are expecting to slot it into aristocrats with sacrifice and recursion, you might as well consider: Ravenous squirrel I wish it counted land sacrifice too. That would've been a windmill slam for me

    Inscho's Graveyard Combo Cube

Yeah, this tracks with my suspicion. I need to decide how important land destruction really is to my format's goals. Dreams is pretty sick. But it's a one of one effect. I wouldn't want to run multiples of it, and it's not like wizards is itching to print more LD cards. I knew that Land...
