    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

Well... I was curious. I have 183 creatures in my cube. 398 total words in names, bringing the average to about 2.17. Compared to Rancor I'd say this is not too good to play. Isamaru is def my best target, though Thassa, God of the Sea holds the record in my cube. Makes me wonder what other...

I think in small doses they're fun. I think they can reward good players in some ways. Knowing when to tutor and what to tutor for may not always be obvious.

Yeah. UU is tough. (worth it for counterspell). I like this one: Into the Roil

Seem cool I guess. They remind me of these guys: Gold Myr Copper Myr Iron Myr Leaden Myr Silver Myr I like that you have the option to run 5 and still be color balanced (as opposed to 10 signets). EDIT: I'd rather run these for the color fixing. coldsteel heart Sphere of the Suns chromatic...

I think the biggest problems with signets are: 1) They are colorless. 2) There are 10 of them. I'm considering dropping them from my cube mainly because it marginalizes green. In general I'll take as much color fixing as I can get, but I see what you mean about only being useful for mid/aggro.

(I'm trying to determine what makes the signets so oppressive. Surely it's not just ramping one?)

I dunno... Unless I really needed the cash I'd probably just stick those in the closet. Kinda cool to have a stash of the most broken cards in history laying around, and you wouldn't have to worry about selling something you needed. The only one on your list I play is Balance. I probably...

Yeah, I think annihilator is super cool. Such a unique way to kill somebody. In fact, I think i'm going to put a Ulamog's Crusher in my cube. See if some control deck can use it as a win condition.

    Card/Deck Artifact/Enchantment destruction

This was my initial approach, but after my first draft the players wanted more utility, specifically, artifact and enchantment removal. Now I like having a little bit of enchant/artifact removal and allowing the power of the enchant/artifacts to tick up a bit. Here's everything I run...

Now that I think about it, the historical enemy pair hate is really a shame. I got zero tolerance for that kind of prejudice in my cube.

General What are the best green cards in your cube?

Cool. I'll have to try Polly. I was worried he wouldn't be able to kill much without dying... but those counters go on before the damage right? Also, this green card is awesome: Beast Within

And on the topic of mana screw... I recently realized if you don't run a lot of fetchlands you will have mana problems. As you can see I don't run fetchlands (don't want to proxy and can't afford 20 of them). I thought about this for a long time (seriously I didn't get a lot of sleep this...

Kami of Ancient Law Anybody use this thing? I like the flexibility of utility bears. Sometimes he's a Demystify, sometimes early defense, sometimes a little early pressure, sometimes a dude for Overrun, and sometimes he's a puzzle for somebody with a Sulfuric Vortex in hand. Never great, often...

    General 720

Another, very similar approach would be to build a "generic goodstuff" 360 card cube then swap out N card expansions as desired. So maybe a 60 card graveyard themed pack, or a 100 card token themed pack, or maybe domain pack complete with a bunch of fixing.
