When I read this thread, my first thought was Tinker, and to a lesser extent Goblin Welder. Both strike me as being similar to Living Death in the sense that you can build around them, but they don't really have a home.

I once drafted a pretty sick control deck with Elspeth, Knight-Errant, Ajani Vengeant, Sorin, Lord of Innistrad, and two Armageddons. It was actually very easy to draft because of the fixing options (much easier to table a Badlands than a Tundra, etc).

I'm currently sitting at 16/450. Only one (Mana Tithe) is non-blue. Two of them (Mystic Snake and Izzet Charm) require another color. The rest are mono-blue.
