    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

It's probably fine. I cut it due to concerns of control decks locking people out with card advantage (unfun), but with my current cube configuration it takes a lot of work for a control deck to get to that point. It could be an interesting counter for most other situations. Re: Wheels I run...

I had a fellow math major friend in college who knew how to play magic, but that was about the extent of it. He had the exact opposite reaction as your friend when I once explained to him how the Animate Dead/Worldgorger Dragon combo deck worked, including the sort of countermeasures people...

Card/Deck Balance: Reasonably Efficient Non-Etb Creatures?

I've swapped it out for Novijen, Heart of Progress, which has actually seen a bit of play. That's definitely a tough nut to crack without taking a step down in power. You could start is by removing the swingiest, generically most powerful cards like Sower of Temptation, but leaving in cards...

On symmetrical effects, where do people stand on Smallpox these days? It does a great job of activating delirium (a small bonus, I know).

Well, also since it's a sorcery your opponent could safely draw more cards than you, with no discard phase imminent.

It would be neat if they designed some nonbasic lands with death triggers.

Along similar lines: rushing river I'm also a fan of increased interaction with noncreature permanents. Move that pesky Ghostly Prison out of the way!

Time Warp is a great call. I need to work that back into my cube. Huge fan of Gifts Ungiven, also. Smokestack Braids, Cabal Minion I really enjoy the agonizing decision-making that these cards present. Building a deck that makes them work in your favor is a nice little puzzle. Kokusho, the...

    Hex TCG MMO

A friend of mine gave me an update about a week ago (he's been trying to get me to buy in for a long time). Apparently they're inundated with legal issues from Hasbro, but are on the verge of climbing out of it with minor tweaks.

General Changes to The Pro Tour Payouts

I honestly don't see why they couldn't make an intuitive and visually appealing version of the game. They ought to introduce a free Hearthstone-esque version alongside their normal modo releases, lower the price tremendously on modo, and start moving everyone's attention away from modo in...

    Hearthstone

I played a game at PAX East this weekend called Star Crusade, which is basically a sci-fi ripoff of Hearthstone. It was really good. Each character has three hero powers instead of one--usually one passive, one that costs mana, and one that essentially has a cooldown timer--and, they're...

I'm late to the party on podcasts. My friends tease me endlessly about it. I finally began following one--literally last week--called Hardcore History with Dan Carlin. I love it. I'm currently learning about the ancient series of events that led to Sparta defending Thermopylae, which is...

    Sets Spoilers Over Innistrad (Digest)

Pretty solid, usually. I used it on myself 2/3 of the time, opponent 1/3 of the time. The 1/1 Spirit was always useful, and in this deck made my Apothecary Geists trigger more often. Really awesome with Sin Prodder out. My opponent spent 10 life in one game pushing my Gitrog Monster away twice.
