    Sets [FIN] [UB] Final Fantasy

Honestly, I'm really mad that the chocobo symbol is just commander when it's a perfectly cromulent normal-looking expansion symbol they could have used for the main set. It's so good! It could have just been the real thing!

    Sets [FIN] [UB] Final Fantasy

the actual set art for Jumbo Cactuar is not nearly as good in comparison IMO so I posted that one instead this is the boring normal one: oh! I forgot the other new thing: (it works like you think it works)

    Sets [FIN] [UB] Final Fantasy

Got some actual-set spoilers today to go with the Commnder spoilers from yesterday. Remember, this is a Standard-legal set. And it's Universes Beyond, so I put that in the thread title. Plus some DFC: // // // as a huge FF geek I'm moderately excited to see cards that will make me...

    General [Contest] 72-card Nanocube

I think playing 16 is legitimately a strategy in some of the cubes posted, too - even when the extra card will often be another basic, if you specifically need X colored sources, and when running out of resources is a factor even if decking doesn't lose you the game...

    General [Contest] 72-card Nanocube

I think Yorion in 15-card-minimum is hilarious and we should let people be forced to play 35 card decks if they are deranged maniacs who love the bird snake (like me)

Howlsquad Heavy is probably pretty cool with a sharpie, though. Just take off all the speed bullshit, let it have the mana ability from the start, and sure it can have the Rabblemaster thing too I see the synergy there

    General [DFT/DRC] Aetherdrift Testing/Includes Thread!

Expected nothing, pleasantly surprised: Stridehangar Automaton Marketback Walker + maaaybe Marauding Mako if I really do go more discard-theme not impossible I ever get tempted enough to run something like Greasewrench Goblin or Quag Feast or Agonasaur Rex but I'm not gonna bet on any of them...

I know everyone's been saying this a lot but this is just a mtgsalvation custom card from 2012, right

You did not. The minimum is three turns if you can deal damage the turn you first acquire speed.

it's totally work-safe but I can't not put it in a spoiler after the original comment

They gave us a LOT of cards today. Here's some cool stuff and/or things that grognards like us will point and hoot and holler at: also they finished the Verge cycle.

Investigate's more flexible than you give it credit for, there's at least two examples already where it isn't mystery-themed but makes perfect sense to me at least: Malcolm, the Eyes Lonis, Cryptozoologist

I was wrong it isn't ...because of Jacked Rabbit somehow the fake-o UB mechanic is actually good?

Yeah, Mawloc's actually I think the only old-fashioned X-cost spell I run these days. Might be worth considering a Stonecoil Serpent or something too...
