    Ravnica Block Cube

I got an 8-person draft in this tuesday night. It was incredible, despite some hiccups. I had my three most regular drafters at the table as well as four different people with experience level raging from old fogeys (I met another cube owner!) to someone who started playing two month ago. The...

General Adding a single Kindred to a cube

kindred is the card type, typal is the style of play and synergy. And yes, dinos are cool. I would aim for over 20 dinos and at least 7 payoffs in 450, preferably those that are both in one card, like the yearling.

General Favorite cube cards from the late 90/early 2000s

Yeah, the good times when overstatted creatures used to come with downsides - that you could then turn into advantages by putting the right synergies together. I miss that time. Shivan Wurm Masticore Gurzigost Call me an old fogey, but these spark much more joy for me than those. Sentinel of...

Pianna, Nomad Captain Shelter Battle Screech Pacifism Death or Glory Pianna is a weaker Glorious Anthem (also cool card) but doesn't eat up a noncreature slot. Shelter is still just white's coolest trick imo. Battle Screech is one of the few good token makers from that time and therefor...

But it's cooler if it also costs less that way. Like a much worse Roar of the Wurm :p

Well, if you either loot or rummage it into your 'yard or mill it, then it essentially draws you card. Or rather doesn't cost you one. I currently run 24 cards that rummage or loot and 24 cards as well that can mill yourself or otherwise put cards from your library into your graveyard. A free...

There are also two more cards I could see myself testing: Self Reflection I wish it could copy opposing creatures OR be one mana cheaper on the flashback, but whenever I see flashback < mana cost, I am tempted to at least try it. Vanguard of the Rose White sac outlets are rare, and this...

    General Custom Cards: The Lab

Has anyone tried this in practice? If so, how did it go? I think flip cards are less of a annoyance in draft than dfcs, but the latter is better known due to their regular use. So I am wondering if problems, like people not knowing how to play these, is something people have experienced...

I feel like people tend to undervalue morphs, at least those with a good flip ability. Yeah, a 3-mana 2/2 is bad, but what if it draws you a Naturalize or Regrowth on etb? Nantuko Vigilante Den Protector (... and gets +1/+0 perpetually when you cast it, I guess.)

I would like to add those observations/arguments 100% to my previous post. You perfectly described why I might end up just adding a single card from this set, even though it has cool art and flavor.

No, the outer framräe and around the artwork, there are thin lines colored as well.

I don't mean to be rude and I'm always for a more respectful and sensitive language, but I am curious: - Why is the use of the word totem more problematic than e.g. graveyard? - Why is the use of the word tribal more problematic than e.g. shaman or priest? - What is the problem with Naga being...

It's always hard for me to come up with these so early, but here are my first impressions: Certain: Volatile Wanderglyph Just what I always wanted but better, because it's an artifact too. Potentially: Enterprising Scullywag Confounding Riddle Not sure if I can squeeze in another red...

Naah, it's just a perfect example for a stupid rare that ruins limited but doesn't do much elsewhere. Fun fact, the only time someone played a Gruff Triplets against me, I won the very next turn.

Oh, I let my regulars habe a say in my cube @Velrun, but that's not exactly a way to get new people on board so much. @Zoss, comparing my cube(s) to masters sets is probably the optimal approach for this group. "Limited but better" could work as well, but I think I have to specifoy it. "You...

For years I wanted wizards to print a {1}{R} 2/2 that rummages when it attacks. Nothing else. And they finally did.
