Adversary is definitely more powerful and more aggressive. i've played it in constructed and always been impressed. tried dismissive in a lower power version of my cube and it is just a do nothing durdle card IMO. didnt cut it even when i was running wacky crap and going up to 8 on mana curves...

just checked through and i'm currently using 20 tutors and/or seekers in my cube. i really like seek (i house rule it to resolve without shuffling) as a faster alternative to tutoring, so i use it often in custom designs.
