General Embrace the Chaos / Cube Occasionals

I'm not totally sold on this, largely because the puritan in me doesn't like adding too many complexities to the cube structure, there's an appeal in the elegance being able to solve your problems with just a pile of cards instead of layering the packs or giving everyone a free emblem or...

    General Fight Club

I think Curve plays better, but the designer in me would go for Elite just because I'm not too into Curve counting cards in exile. There's also Cryptic Serpent who is out here trying to be a fair Murktide Regent if you're into that. Doesn't play as well with spell recursion or copying if you...

Sets (NEO) Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty Previews

Cyberpunk you mean? I think I'll just ignore anything related to the theme or I'll just spend all my posts seething. Well, I'll still be doing that, just less visibly. PW looks mechanically solid. The whole line of text that just boils down to "you can't attack me on the first turn" is kind of...

okay I guess I'm doing this I actually misspoke, I meant to say ravnica 3, which was available to play on Arena. And his point was that even when current standard formats are diverse they still suffer from unfun play patterns. Actually no idea what you are trying to say here. I have no reason...

    Sets Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty

I really wish I could've discovered this game a couple years ago, so I didn't have to second-guess myself and how much I am subject to nostalgia. cw: big rant in what timeline Standard players have hated their format for the last several rotations, only recently did some pro player on the...

That WUBRG ability is the biggest Okay I guess we have to make a 5-color legend for brawl text I have seen so far in contemporary magic design, it's so disconnected from the card as a whole it feels very... incredible? uncredible? incredulous? Also not big on the name, feels very informal for a...

General Weekly Fun Q: Which land would you rather live in?

Imagine having the option to go to a myriad of fantasy worlds, even having the chance to study magic at a Strixhaven campus, and instead opting to stay in the real world and work for Hasbro.

    General Custom Cards: The Lab

The wording is, I'd expect a trigger. I also kind of don't get the flavor of it unless I try really hard to. I don't really think Lurrus needed a better main-body. It's already a must-answer card, you don't need to force your opponent into a 3-for-1 to deal with it.

It's not so much that I forgot it, I know that's where it's derived from, I was more so saying that people use flicker as a verb when playing with flickerwisp, as an actual card that sees play. Well, it did at least, not sure if it's been power crept out of D&T after the latest Zendikar set and...

If you want to make a distinction, then blinking something returns it immediately and flickering it returns it with a delayed trigger. I think both terms are still used, flickering probably mostly in the context of its associated wisp.

    Inscho's Graveyard Combo Cube

Cutting Barrin seems questionable considering he's probably one of the better bridge cards between white and blue. Blue offers some of the stronger etb-creatures in your cube to use with Ephemerate, Soulherder and Prince, Barrin included, and he turns your Usher to Safety and Kor Skyfisher into...

    Sequence Cube

Alright, moderately-ish big update. Cut the aforementioned lands and added some artifact cards as replacements, plus a few other cards I'm not as high on, which is actually kind of nice knowing that there are some easy cuts for the next time I make an update. In terms of build-arounds, Ravager...

    Sequence Cube

I feel like The Antiquities War is kind of feelsbad, you rely pretty heavily on the third ability since a lot of artifact cards just don't have the typing. To elaborate a little, what my gut feeling would consider reasonable is that out of 5 drafts, ~2 of them you'll get trainwrecked going hard...
