Into the Mist is complicated? I'm hoping for Experiment X to function as a colorless 2/2 for 2 with some upside most of the time. If its broken, the first thing is to make it start as a 1/1 with no counters. After that, idk. Blind Goblin could maybe make 2 creature not be able to block... -

I agree that the effect isn't black, but I think Hybrid 1 drops can be treated as Gold cards. There are other ways to do multicolor themed 1 drops, of course (kird ape, deathrite shaman). That said, I'd be fine with switching it to U/W if we could come up with a good hybrid 1 drop for BW... -

no, I guess not? Could be an enchant with R, Sacrifice a land: 2 damage. Though it wouldn't be quite as good, it'd be very close. So there is at least in functional difference, in that you can pay the fortify cost and sac later. I'd like it to have a good reason for being a fortification... -
