In my cube's core, there are eleven 2/1s and five 2/3s that Sea Gate would be better against, but only seven-ish are aggro cards. On the other hand, there are 48 X/2s, of which at least ~33 are better blocked by Cloudkin. I think that settles it :)

Yeah, I think I should switch to Cloudkin. I have {W/U} and {U/B} tempo decks showing up, that utilize ninjas and would much rather have the evasive body. I was just worried that I might take away something from blue control decks, which have been struggling more so than the tempo decks.

I think frontloading them like this is more apt when you understand occasionals as mostly "narrow, cool buildarounds", but not at all necessary when they're also combat tricks, tricolor cards, utility lands, interchangeable curve toppers, morphs, etc.
