Accord seems good in a control deck if there's incidental life gain on a lot of cards that deck wants.

The Izzet-island certainly looks like a good contender for a Steam Vents!

Against most flying tokens yeah and also I like the aesthetics of the same p/t! One toughness really sucks against like, lingering souls, and two toughness becomes 3 toughness after one instant/sorcery which lets it survive a lot more than the 2 toughness wondscout gets after its trigger.

Wind mage! If only because it's a wind drake.

I agree! I honestly don't have a clue what "CBS" is supposed to be. "Cube Bull Shit"?

The 3 toughness might be what makes it bearable

They also pair well with red discard effects such as faithless looting and devastating dreams for the RG control decks.

There's also a good chance you can just run both the wurm and the hydra!

That's fine! I just have found myself to be a bit hand-wavey, so that's why I mentioned it. These days I even like to go as far as try to write up what an actual 40-card deck with a theme would look like. It's much harder to argue against something very concrete.

Do you really need to play aristocrats specifically to want a 5/5 hasty dragon???

    General Fight Club

It's very easy to just wave a hand without listing the actual cards necessary to get the critical mass for a theme to be viable.

I think a life-pay theme sprinkled with just a few good lifegain-matters cards is a good way to go both supporting it organically (lifepay for powerful effects that wants lifegain) and some signalling elements to get the idea implanted in a drafters mind (the lifegain-matters card). Can you give some examples of these critters?

I do run a pox archetype to a degree.. so maybe it isn't that unrealistic to be low on cards in hand in black :) Might just try it.

dread wanderer Another one. How hard is it to actually get down to 1 card in a regular deck? Do you need to actively discard cards to get to use him?

I'm already trying to support death cloud and braids and smokestack, so I think a card like call to the grave fits that theme pretty well. Incidentally, I'm running Reassembling skeleton to get a lock with those cards already so call might just make it in :)

That's a good argument :) The lock only works with a zombie deck so maybe it isn't that oppressive. Worth a try at least

call to the grave Is this a fair card in a zombie dense deck or miserable? I can see it ending up as a repetitive board state with no interaction. It does really insentivise playing zombies though.
