    Card/Deck Low Power Card Spotlight

Well, you are probably not playing the sphere on turn 2. Yes it is easier to have only 2 mana open. But remember, if you play it in instalments the opponent can react. I guess it depends on what you want. If your cycling enablers are powerful enough then choose the cycling one. If you have...

    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

It depends. Is your cube slow or fast? How many targets does each one have? Recruitment is a very Durdly card advantage. It supports white aggro. Killer is a defensive card (which can be used to push a bit of damage through). Let’s put it this way: on turn one I rather have the recruitment. On a...

I think both enchantments, are stronger bitterblossems. Therefore, they end the game more quickly after jokalhaups. The problem of jokalhaups cards is that if there is no breakage of symmetry it takes a long time. For me these enchantments are not stronger than the gargodon. They are however...

    General Custom Cards: The Lab

Sorry, but how is a painting (an object) different than a wheel (an object)? Similarly, with performing arts. Why should we put ballet higher than a videogame? And from the videogame to a book, and from a book to a beautifully made children pushcart? How much I appreciate art, I sincerely...

    General Custom Cards: The Lab

I knew I was going to get a lot of flack, which is fine. First off, I do support artists. However, I am surprised by the blind following of rules without questioning whether these rules are good/consistent. A programmer gets paid exactly once for the code written (unlike the company that...

    General Custom Cards: The Lab

I am exactly in the opposite camp. When one follows your argument you have not only to pay the artist, but the artist in turn has to pay everyone who taught him/her/it. Similarly, mobile phone technology/WiFi/and so on is based on mathematics. Do you pay the ones who made the math to make it...

Sets (ONE) Phyrexia: All Will Be One Previews

Well, I do not like survival of the fittest type of cards and rebels, since they upsearch/are really repetitive. The best play sequence is either search for a searcher with higher cmc or for an answer. Your draw step becomes I hope to find a land and not a cheap search rebel. Compare it with the...

Sets (ONE) Phyrexia: All Will Be One Previews

Rebels are a nogogo. Simply put, they are repetitive and boring since you can search them scalingly. It seems fun, but playing and playing against it does not feel fun (from a person who thinks stacks and so on is fair as long as it is not repetitive).

In my urza block cube slow motion becomes: Pay 2 every turn. If you do not, you sacrifice this creature and your remaining best creature receives this tax from next turn on. Slow motions power is primarily that it inevitable. Why it is palatable is that often players end up with more than 5...

If you do not want 12 you could add mirari’s wake type of cards. Those play nicely with ramp. Add a palinchron and a mana sink and you have another combo part I hear you on having accidental combo. It is non-parasitic, players can surprise you with a combo which you did not know of and so on.

I rather play agains overwhelming splendor than any big beast/finisher of a huge mana cost. At least splendor gives an out and some time to find it. Note that splendor does absolutely nothing if you remove it timely as opposed to most other big mana cost cards these days

Yes, in aggro against a deck with bigger creatures, in non-aggro to slow aggro down, in a deck which adds +1/+1 counters, in a deck with living weapon, and finally with opalescence if you want to blow your brain edit : seriously, I love that card Oh I read Humility

You have valid points but I think it is possible by including cards that forces creatures to attack, cards that make an opponent lose life, poison/infect, enough destroy, and last but not least alternate wins.

Well, one should learn the power of removal. Otherwise that player folds due to an utility creature. What if we made that you get to choose an emblem, but that that emblem holds for both? Or you can choose whether the emblem holds for the opponent or yourself? That opens up a whole different...
