General Life Gain as a Thing

Where is Bolas's Citadel in this thread?! Life gain payoff, sacrifice enabler and random artifact. It's really fun too.

    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

I’ve liked playing Verdurous Gearhulk alongside The Great Henge. They give you just enough Daretti/Welder targets to make a RG midrange/GY/counters a subtheme. Add Gilded Goose instead of an elf to help. The great thing is, they are all solid on their own. Tireless Tracker fits there too. The 2...

    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

I actually think this is too slow. 3 mana for a 1/1 is rough. I would probably play Rhys the Redeemed before this guy as a token payoff that can also go into more decks. Sure, you lose the artifact synergies, but I think the hybrid mana makes up for it.

    General "Looking for a card"-Thread

I am trying to cut on generic value Planeswalkers and I am looking to replace Tezzeret, Artifice Master I really like the guy, but the +1 protection gets old on walkers. I do miss the fact that he fit well in the artifact deck and was generally good elsewhere. I was thinking of the Mirari...

    Card/Deck Wx Cycling

I really enjoyed drafting Alfonzo Bonzo's 2.1 version of the Alchemist's Crucible. There is a heavy cycling theme there from which you can get inspiration https://www.cubetutor.com/viewcube/108492 From your list ravnic, I agree with inscho that Fox, Healer, and Cairn seem a bit off. I'd add...

    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

Biogenic Ooze is really good. I play it in my multiplayer cube and there it is a must answer or it risks taking over the game. However, the speed at which it wins is reasonable and even if you make a token before they answer the game isn't over. Leave it unchecked for too long though, that's on...

    General Companions, Yay or nay?

I plan on playing the companions without the companion text. The cards themselves are good, but what I like the most are the hybrid mana costs. They allow you do diversify your decks by a great amount and keep the cube fresh. I tried to draft some decks with the companions as companions and...

    Highball: Legacy of the Rails

I’m feeling the same way Trainmaster, where it feels like I am stuck between 2 schools of thought to whom I both wnt to adhere. I realized this came from reading all the posts on the cube subreddit as well as Usman’s set reviews and Solely Singleton podcast. I want to play all the “good” cards...

    General Small archetype packages

The two other discard matter cards that I can think of (excluding Archfiend of Ifnir for power level reasons) Bone MiserSurly Badgersaur The Miser is stronger than the badger, but given enough overlap in your red section, I can see the badger making it in. I do think Buccaneer is better than...

    Alchemist's Crucible

I never noticed my user name is different here (Minox on CC). I really liked your previous version of the cube and this one is rock solid as well. There are so many possibilities during each draft and each card fits into multiple decks. I can randomly pick any card first pack and build around...

    General Exes Archetype

Another card that works well with X spells is Pyromancer's Goggles It provides a bit of ramp, but more importantly it can double your red spells if you want to double up with a spells matter theme in that color. Finale of PromiseTempt with VengeanceAvacyn's Judgment Give you X spells...

    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

Thanks for the suggestions. Gurzigost is a really cool card I didn't know about, but doesn't quite get there for my cube. It's missing a keyword or 2. I have run Genesis in the past, when my cube was a little slower. It was always a decent engine. But now with a higher speed, I find that...

    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

I'm tinkering pretty hard with my cube for some graveyard shenanigans. I think it's looking pretty good, but I'm worrying about milling yourself out. Some decks can churn through the library pretty hard and I'm wondering if something should be done to avoid this or if it should be an inherent...

    General Fight Club

The multiplayer setting is why I am trying a few pushed planeswalkers (more opponents usually means easier to deal with), but if we are at about the same power level and he is good for you, I am really excited. I've been eyeing the guy since his release and thought I had irrational love for the...

    General Fight Club

There is also Syr Konrad, the Grim who is solid and has bonus synergy if you run some mill/self-mill. I really want to run him, but I think my power level is too high. He doesn't gain life though, so that is probably a bummer for you ravnic :(

    General (IKO & C20) Testing/Includes Thread

Include Luminous Broodmoth: In my environment, resilient threats are at a premium. It's good with or against a wrath and allows to double dip on sacrifice effects (like Anax, Hardened in the Forge and Nightmare Shepherd). The worst case scenario is a 3/4 flier for 4 which is fine(ish). Verge...

Sets [IKO] Ikoria: Lair of Behemoths

I'm loving all these hybrids. The cat seems great at supporting small white GY decks. Teshar, Ancestor's Apostle, Ajani, Adversary of Tyrants, Sevinne's Reclamation. Goes well in a deck with Emry, Lurker of the Loch or Goblin Engineer returning Chromatic Star, Mishra's Bauble and Hangarback...

    General Fight Club

In regards to the Baloths vs Avenger, the downside of both of these is that they are powerful enough outside of the landfall deck to get snagged by other random decks. So you aren't really able to target the deck that you want. The Woodcrasher is probably a safer bet to reach your goal. I...
