I agree that vanilla creatures are not super exciting for anyone. Maybe one or two in an entire cube. But I also think we have misunderstood the Gollum complexity talk if we think it’s the vanilla creatures that Wizards are talking about. I think it’s the more simple cards that aren’t vanilla...

I just want to add, I think there is a big gap between actual vanilla creatures (Creatures with 0 card text) and simple designs. For instance I personally consider these cards simple designs. I don't know about you all. Lucky CloverYoung Blue DragonVastwood Fortification

It's legendary because it's a story character. Unique. There is only one on the plane. This is what legendary means in MtG.

You will for sure be happy about this decision in the long run! Doesn't matter what faction/plane/storyline you support. As long as there is a unifying trend that players can feel like they are going deep into.
