The Dandy Cube (Chris Taylor's Cube)

Patch thoughts: The thing I felt I needed to change from my last iteration was that removal was likely a bit too strong. We hadn't seen prowess or tokens at the top brackets in a while, and the hypothesis is that had less to do with the deck itself and more to how people were reacting to it...

"The world doesn't have rules, it has consequences. In a video game, if murder is against the rules, that isn't an action you can take. In real life, nothing can STOP you from doing something, only specify what happens if you do." Yeah dude, the whole gun thing, you're probably fine. It's not...

You know what, you're right. Players should have to provide their own basic lands ;)

Imo four is just an awkward number for magics color system

Sharzad v4 - The Passion of Tarkir

Like I said, it couldn't exist anywhere else :P But like, here we have green spell pierce and the cube didn't collapse

Sharzad v4 - The Passion of Tarkir

My exact words were "I can't see this being made by anyone else, anywhere else, and fitting, so maybe you need to run it for that alone. It's the most Safra card I've ever seen"

    Card/Deck Low Power Card Spotlight

Yeah and I think we've talked about this before: you see people playing extra colors as greed and something to be punished, and I see it as a failure for a desirable two color deck to arise. Weather or not you think nonbasic lands are necessary will play a big part in weather or not you think...

Protip: Shuffle your basic land box. In a draft of 8 people, inevitably what will happen is once the draft is over, someone will grab half the stack, which will be all the plains/islands and half the swamps. They will then ask where the Forests are.

    Card/Deck Low Power Card Spotlight

All I meant by linking cleansing wildfire is to say spreading seas a bounceland isn't "cantrip sinkhole", it's cleansing wildfire :P Look, I would be of the opinion that you shouldn't put in tools to fuck with people's bouncelands the same way I don't think you should put in tools to fuck with...

If you have another bounceland, you can undo their spreading seas by bouncing your bounceland. And spending a LOT of time

@safra Are we still looking for the other 3 to round out the cycle or nah? Force of Will and Habit are the only two that REALLY fit well as an idiom imo

Sets (OTJ) Outlaws of Thunder Junction Previews

Yeah I do a non-zero amount of token consolidation via customs: I'm kinda getting similar vibes to our converstation over in the MH3 thread: do you want WotC to try new things, or do new stuff with the same old tools? Because yeah, there's not enough cards that use 2/2 flying spirits right...

You know I was wondering why I didn't remember this token and apparently it's JUST Obsura Ascendency Obscura Ascendancy

Saddle is kinda creatures that are also vehicles, I like that narratively even if the gameplay ends up sucking (which hey, I've been surprised by less)

I do think mitigating the play/draw disparity is important, I think it's a better idea to do so with cards that break serve without asking who won the die roll on T10

I forget if I've played a land yet, I forget which game of the match this is, I sure as hell forget who went first Magic is complicated, and there's a lot to keep track of. I don't think this kind of card is unusable, but it's adding another thing to keep track of for not a lot of gain imo
