There is also this green pivot archetype:
Life from the Loam
Ramunap Excavator
World Shaper
Tranquil Thicket
Stormbind
Misty Rainforest
Knight of the Reliquary
Treetop Village
I feel like if decks like this are actually viable, I've done everything right :D
This seems to be capturing well the awesome grindy value of ravnica block - without having it be a 4+ color format. You don't see limited decks with that few creatures all that often. But note how it has enough...
I've noticed a similar problem with landfall. I tried to mitigate it as much as I could by making my landfall archetype tend more towards a very grindy midrange playstyle than the aggressive version. Also cards like Soratami Cloudskater, Kor Skyfisher or Life from the Loam (with self sacrificing...
I think it's slightly weaker than Languish. You can't really save your x toughness guys, mostly, as they will get much weaker as a result. It's still a very nice wrath that can cripple a small aggro horde as well as a board of large fatties. It's probably my favorite black board wipe after Bane...
Zephyr Boots
Daemogoth Titan
Emergent Sequence
It's moved up to three cards after a few drafts. Zephyr Boots was a slam dunk for me, Titan also seems to fit my specific environment very well and Emergent Sequence has really grown on me, might be my favorite design of the set now. It's a Rampant...
I think still pretty good. Even without delve, it is a 8/8 Siege Wurm that can be cast over and over again from your graveyard. And black decks can play it too!
And then it has delve too! I don't think it's a lower power card.
I like the ones that work with spells already cast, so you don't have to worry about drawing stuff in the correct order. My favorite is:
Enigma Drake
I love this card. It is rewarding without being too powerful and it goes in both tempo and control oriented versions of the deck. Also overlaps...
Glint-Eye, Witch-Maw, ... no these are too difficult.
I'm pretty good at remembering the monocolor names however.
Black, green, blue, red ... uhm ... ah, white, that's it.
Within the restraints of your supported themes/archetypes, you're always chosing the best options available. There might be restrictions that change things of course, like "no p9", but unless we're having larger restrictions like "only comons", I'd call a cube max power. Just for communication...
I can recommend Peek and Portent as well. I like Peek a little more gameplay wise, as fatesealing can be annoying and instant speed offers more flexibility and synergy.
Do the cantrips have to be blue?
Shelter
Guided Strike
These are really good if combat is an important thing in your cube...
I'm using brushwagg reaction as a super like fyi
Three likes are making me happy! I'm on the list now. I just need someone to play cube with when my gf is busy and there is that pandemic going too. I'll make a thread as soon as I'm done (probably tomorrow, I know myself).
In a few days we will probably not even notice it anymore. Only thing bothering me is the round shaped profile pic, my Dimir Guildmage is cut off :(
Onders pic however seems to be made for that upgrade!
Another topic: if one handsome member of these boards would create a arena peasant cube, would you draft it online on cc/ct to play a few matches afterwards with these decks (on arena, obviously)?
Oh yeah, that's another nice way of utilizing it :)
Some other non-EtB creatures synergizing with it in my cube are:
Fireblade Charger
Spikeshot Goblin
Den Protector
Penumbra Spider
Basically all death triggers, obviously.
However, I think at it's best it will be in the ninjutsu decks, where...
I don't think however that the exile clause on Incendiary Flow or Dissipate is really taxing much from your drafters, especially if these clauses are common. They will have to read them, yes, but it's so easily understood that it is more like an added "scry 1" or "draw a card". You shouldn't...
I'd specifically prefer one that isn't a plain removal, as my black section is already good on that.
Supernatural Stamina was also the first one I thought about. This can at least be card avantageous with EtB creatures.
But are any of those really better than Stamina?
