    General Custom Cards: The Lab

Sorry, then it didn't happen. Looking for good art that fits specific card ideas is often super time consuming, and these aren't designs I am ever going to be able to use myself given the parameters of my cube.

    General Custom Cards: The Lab

Still working on these! Dueling Practice is just Reckless Rage, but more expensive because lessons need to be suboptimal (since they're free riders on the learn cards). This effect is potentially desirable for the {r/w} heroic deck in my cube as well.

General Poll: How many lands in your 360?

I nearly forgot Heritage is a 360 cube! (Even though Cube Cobra says it's 400, the 40 mods are drafted seperately from the 360 main cube.) It runs exactly 40 lands (all of them fixing), which is actually over 3% less than my main 450 cube, which has to compensate for variance and has a heavier...

    Card/Deck Low Power Card Spotlight

Tested it and cut it. Not for being too strong. Quite a fun card, but cycling it 4 times for the special trick doesn't happen very often. It was actually best just as an 8/8 trample, haste for 7 mana, so I cut it for being too generic. I like the 5/5 trample, haste uncommon better in that role.

I think good examples are give in this article, though the term is older. Basically tight play is when your technical game is on point, i.e. you don't make suboptimal plays. For example, saving your counterspell for the real threat, instead of the first feasible target that presents itself, or...

People win by tight play, optimizing the cards they draw. It's true that Battle Box does not give the player much agency over their deck, since there is no deck construction involved, however, there are a few things that I like very much about the format: It is compact and portable, making it an...

Yes. I have one, and it's awesome :) https://cubecobra.com/cube/list/sbb I haven't updated it in a while, but the driving concept is sequencing tension. Roughly the following guidelines are in place: 1 mv drops need to be relevant in the late game. 2+ mv drops need at least two colored mana...

We have those as well, but the fresh ones are better. Fresh, warm stroopwafels are a treat! However, if you fail to get hold of a fresh stroopwafel stand, literally every supermarket in the Netherlands sells prepackaged ones. Stroopwafel survival guide (or: how to prepare for eating a...

It's like the Dutch being proud of "typical" Dutch products like ice skates (invented in Finland) or the cheese slicer (invented in Norway). Stroopwafels though? They're Dutch, and they're some of the most yummie "biscuits" you'll ever taste! Definitely buy some fresh stroopwafels somewhere when...

Yeah, I wouldn't advocate running this in a cube without a decent number of other zombies, because the line can be misleading. That said, it still works in a deck without any supporting zombies, and I like that quality in a card.

PS. Why for anyone wondering why they decided to make tribal a card type instead of a supertype: Q: troublingpath asked: Why isn't Tribal a super type? A Tribal spell doesn't mean anything by itself. A: magicjudge answered: The point of the Tribal type is so that non-creature spells can have...

Sets (VOW) Crimson Vow Testing/Includes Thread

What I mean with "a self-contained tribal card" is that it is a card that rewards you for playing the tribe, but also works just fine on its own. For example, Cryptbreaker is a card I love, because while it is better when you couple it with a few other zombies in your deck, it also makes its own...
