My hybrid/split card section is a toss-in. There's no balance. Just add the cards and some different decks will pick them up. The exception being stuff that costs triple hybrids or something.

I think it depends if you want an interesting, aggressive, versatile two drop or an ETB, guaranteed value, know all the info about the opponent's hand, fuck up their hand, fuck up their day, asshole three drop. It's hard to say.

I feel like using the term "format staples" is pretty absurd when we are talking about a format where we build varying formats. Maybe that term could apply if you're playing a stock power-max list, but that's it. I also run several cards from both C17 and C18.
