    General Magic:Legends

Hmm... I get your point, but I think Path of Exile is a good example of how it could and should be done. There are plenty of microtransactions, none of which are vital, though I will admit there are a few that make life just that bit more easy (talking about various stash tabs for those who play...

I agree, it depends a lot on how they implement loot boxes (if they implement them). Loot boxes are not inherently a bad thing.

    General Magic:Legends

To be fair, Magic has an accessible singles market. Playing competitive Magic though, yeah, very close. Gonna cost you lots of money to stay up to speed with Standard. Of course you could opt to play older, less rotating formats, but those require ungodly amounts of money to buy into. The main...

    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

It made 3rd place (WLW) in my last draft in an UG ramp deck. It was very good, and one of the pilot's MVC's (the first one they mentioned, in fact). He lost the second round (of three) to me, when he decked himself in the first game (I ran a bunch of wraths), won the second game, then got run...

Sets [THB] Theros Beyond Death *SPOILER*

I completely missed that this is an elemental! This is now 100% making my cube as the perfect cross-over card between Boros Aggro and Temur Elementals :) And even though I dislike CC costs on my creatures, new Daxos looks great. It's legendary, it can be fetched with Zur, and it's very well...

Not inherently, but if the cost of acquiring the good stuff is too high, that becomes prohibitive for forming a solid player base.

    General CBS

To be fair, product fatigue was always a thing. Try to find the last post by previous high profile posters like ahadabans, FlowerSunRain, or Eric Chan, and you'll see that it's been months, or even years. These were all people who, at one time in their life, dedicated enough time of their life...

Sets [THB] Theros Beyond Death *SPOILER*

Thanks for putting this into words so much clearer than I did, I would have never guessed what you meant by infinite otherwise ;) Ok, real talk. Cut the dinosaur instead! :P I'm now actively wondering how cool Living Terrain would be. It eats up one of your lands, but 5/6 for...

    General Magic:Legends

I surely hope not, but for now, let's say I'm not expecting to get as hooked to this as I was to good old Shandalar. For reference:

    RCB's Cube

It might actually work a bit like old school magic. If there is such a thing as power creep in Magic (it's all relative anyway), it's the average power of creatures, especially higher on the curve. Spells used to rule in the old days, any old creature could finish off the opponent after you...

    General Magic:Legends

I've heard that the studio that made this game are known for aggressive use of loot boxes. It might cost a pretty penny to actually get somewhere in this game.

They've really stepped up their game. Another excellent trailer! I feel like watching it again, gruesome as it is. There's that glimmer of hope at the end! :)

Sets [THB] Theros Beyond Death *SPOILER*

I do not have the authority? Actual WTF? I am asking for myself if you could stop taking every word literally and badger people into admitting they are wrong. It's irritating to me. I value your contributions to this forum, but I could do without you nitpicking people's exact wording. Obviously...

Come one Velrun, give him a break. You know it's not infinite tokens, Trainmaster knows it's not infinite tokens. They're using a hyperbole, a shortcut to indicate that as a plus ability you can create a token every turn, and that's perfectly fine. Please don't take every word someone writes...

    General Custom Cards: The Lab

I like the hybrid, but note that the cheapest cards that currently can make you the monarch have a cmc of 4! Why not make it a 5/2 trample, haste, can't block for {2}{b/r}{b/r}?

Sets [THB] Theros Beyond Death *SPOILER*

I know they didn't say so exactly, but they were obviously referring to the 2/3's being a + ability, and thus technically infinite given infinite turns. That said, Garruk, Primal Hunter exists, which makes 3/3's as the + ability for the same cmc. Also, Huatli, Warrior Poet makes 3/3's at the...

    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

Also, let me add a post by famed wtwlf123 from back in 2012. Basically, as long as you can't go ham on 1 and 3, 2 is your main goal of 'abusing' Balance, and that's almost a fair reset button (if we ignore the low mana cost). If you have faith in your format's ability to handle the...

    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

To be fair, I must say that, despite my misgivings, I am tempted by Balance to the point where I bought a copy. I've stopped shy of putting it in my cube every time I considered the card though. White has such a low number of clear p1p1s, that it's hard to not be tempted by Balance.

    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

Because Armageddon and Persecute are inherently less fun than Wrath of God. After a Wrath of God, you still get to play Magic. Losing your lands or cards in hand is way more devastating in this aspect. Of course you won't typically lose that many lands to Balance, though I do run Borderposts in...
