I have to disagree here. Wave might often be better, but Evac is an instant, and that is very relevant in a blue deck.

I think Evacuation is the worst because it always resets your board. Cyclonic Rift is good early, and insane late. Baral's Expertise allows you to surgically remove your opponent's best creatures and/or bounce and replay one of your own cheap etb effects (Sea Gate Oracle for example).

Oh, I have loved Ancient Excavation in testing so far. That card has never been bad! There have been turns where I eot looted seven cards with it, dumped a juicy target in my gy, only to reanimate it on my turn. Also, the basic landcycling isn't irrelevant when you're running more than two colors!

Jace is considerably worse than Looter il-Kor in an attacking deck with equipment and enchantment-based removal! So, while I will definitely pick Jace over Looter p1p1, that might change during p2, and especially p3, when I know the synergies with Looter are simply better. Also, there's...

Rishkar was awesome in testing so far, not nearly as devastating as Hardened Scales has been. It's good, but there's plenty of good in other colors as well!

Hehehe, I meant the quote, not the original post ;) And yeah... they might be amusing, but the best openings are also pretty much unbeatable for the other decks. I do like Rishkar, Peema Renegade and Cytoplas Root-Kin as +1/+1 counter-lords :)
