Metallic Mimic has been nice in testing so far. As a 2/1 it is brickwalled fairly easily, and it dies to everything of course, but the +1/+1 counters are excellent for a relatively small mana investment. I don't run any of the infinite combo's since I cut all persist from my cube. That mechanic...

Aid from the Cowl was a delight. Because it triggers at the end of your turn, if you build your deck right, you can get immediate value out of it. I liked it better than Rishkar's Expertise, because it's much less in your face and rewards good drafting!

I run 10 fetchlands, 5 bouncelands, and 5 borderposts for the mana base alone, so I assume my players can turn on revolt if they draft around it. What I do like about push is that it reward you for drafting around it, unlike Bolt and Path with are just generically good and always "on". I also...

You are absolutely correct that we shouldn't forget what ChannelFireball is: a store that wants to make money. I think all of us can agree that Push will be important for multiple constructed format, as there simply wasn't a black removal spell that answered so many creatures in the format...

To be fair, Bolt can answer less threats, and Path does have a serious downside when you need to use it in the early game.

It's not our cubes that drives up the price, it's the card's playability in every constructed format, especially those where fetchlands means revolt is trivial to trigger. PVDDR wrote a nice article last week, and the list of targets is impressive really. Edit: Meaning, of course, it might...

Sure, I don't blame sellers trying to get Path to Exile money for it, but it's not like I need the card either.

I have to agree with Chris here, card looks better than it plays. Most of the time it's just a Cancel, which is disappointing. Looter Scooter has been awesome, but Renegade Freighter was annoying. I wonder where the Harvester falls. On paper the 3/5 lifelink looks like a nightmare for Aggro...

Three is a lot. I do have a dedicated spells matter theme in {u/r}, and I've fired off Rise from the Tides for six+ zombies more than once, so I expect Curious Homunculus to be able to flip in my cube. I do think only being able to spend the {C} on instants and sorceries keeps down the value of...

Yeah, I tested this card a bunch as well, and I have to agree, especially because a lot of the triggered abilities you want to counter are etb effects, so most of the time you're better off using it as a Cancel And let's be honest, no one here is running Cancel (meaning someone probably is)...

Oh man, that has to be such a frustrating way to lose. Spiral of doom indeed!

None of those are includes for my cube. Instead the energy cards that (mostly) work on their own are includes. Stuff like Aether Chaser is brilliant. It's a 2/1 first strike for {1}{r}, which is already above average in the color, and it makes a 1/1 when it attacks for the first time. Of course...

    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

I haven't tried it, because it looks busted with stuff like Cruel Ultimatum, which definitely should not come with a 3/3 body in a monocolored deck. It completely breaks the game in half when you play any blink effects with a rider, because the spell can be cast repeatedly. Acrobatic Maneuver...

It certainly is win more in some scenario's, but it gives green an unprecedented amount of digging power when you're desperately looking for an answer to something your opponent did, and it completely breaks open the game when you're in any sort of board stall. I think it's just you, sorry ;)...

Which begs the question, why invest in standard when your deck might become unplayable and your cards might become worthless overnight? People who bought into the marvel deck last week are going to be pretty pissed. Note: The banning look sensible to me on paper at least, but that doesn't...

More notes! Pacification Array is much better than I thought. I swapped it in over Icy Manipulator to try it out, and I think it will keep its spot. Keeping open two mana is definitely an issue in the mid game, but Array shines in the early game. I found it to be a much better pick than...

Tested a bit. Yahenni, Undying Partisan is awesome, especially with Bloodsoaked Champion and Blood Artist/Zulaport Cutthroat! Guy is a nightmare for red and green decks though. Glint-Sleeve Siphoner was cool, plays very different from Dark Confidant, despite the same stats. Siphoner is...
