Not necessarily, it's just that Seasons Past restricts your mana curve a bit more, in exchange for a higher ceiling. For me, that ceiling is a bit too high though.

Yeah, I just watched Finkel vs Manfield in round 5, and Dark Petition for Seasons Past, recurring Dark Petition and putting Seasons Past on the bottom was brutal, just at the moment Manfield's deck was looking to pull ahead. Man that interaction is sweet! At least while it's novel :)

Wow, this one is hard. Silence the Believers is a solid removal spell, and mono-colored, so I think I'll pick that one. Liliana Vess is a good pick as well, and I think Golden Hind, Ral Zarek and Rakdos's Return are defensible as well.
