    Inscho's Graveyard Combo Cube

Forbid creates the feeling of knowing that the game is over and that nothing you do in the rest of the game will matter - it's satisfying to play around the first counter and make them have the second, but less so when they always have it because the first one is the second and so on. The...

I think being a creature makes Assassins far more useful for the kind of deck that wants to make and sacrifice (and probably, in BG, find + recur) creatures than either of the enchantments

    Inscho's Graveyard Combo Cube

Sometimes I flirt with running at least one card from each set as an homage to Magic's history and am quickly reminded that it's a lot easier with some sets than others...

    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

Scarecrone was always too fragile for my tastes, and there are few enough good artifact creatures to return that being able to reuse the ability is less relevant than you might like. That said, tying reanimation to summoning sick creatures is a good way to limit how explosive those effects can...

Card/Deck Topdeck Matters: The Heart of the Cards

I like these: Erratic ExplosionRiddle of LightningSorin, Grim Nemesis as a way to graft a unique combo onto an otherwise normal deck, It's easy to find cards with conveniently high mana costs once you go looking (split cards like Commit // Memory, delve cards, Emrakul 13...) Vivien...

Thassa's Oracle plays out far far better than Maniac in my experience. Having to draw a card isn't trivial and neither is keeping your 2/2 around in a deck that probably doesn't have many juicy removal targets

    Inscho's Graveyard Combo Cube

Was going to post my decks myself but couldn't access Cubecobra! I really like how the Cube has evolved and how it looks right now - it feels more deep and streamlined

idk about you but using By Gnome Means to put -2/-2 counters on Villain's best creature sounds delightful

Barrin is really neat! The bounceland synergy is adorable. Also one of a million cards that combos with: Words of Wind

    Sets [M21] M21 Previews!

Very happy to see Conclave Mentor, now we just need the UG one and the RG one (which Chris used to run already!) Heartfire Immolator is less exciting for me but far more necessary. Red desperately needs good 2-drops and Abbot of Keral Keep kept performing worse than it looked so I'm glad we...

General How to execute a minimalist Artifact theme

That's always been an issue with the artifact theme - there are more good artifact enablers or cards that care about artifacts than good artifacts themselves, and many of the best artifacts are over the line in some way (Winter Orb, Jitte/Clamp, fast mana etc). I was also disappointed by Sai...

Jeff Hoogland speaks a lot, that's for sure

    Sets [M21] M21 Previews!

Cards like this (and Baneslayer Angel) are essentially unplayable in Standard and have been for a while. That's part of the problem!

If you're hardcasting them I think it's roughly: Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger Emrakul, the Promised End gap Kozilek, the Great Distortion gap the others Emrakul TPE is by far the most interesting though IMO and actually gives you interesting drafting, deckbuilding etc decisions beyond making...

    Card/Deck Low Power Card Spotlight

I've sung DD's praises for years and won't stop now! It's subtly versatile - a beefier aggro deck or midrange deck that might not support Wildfire can run DD and it's a unique effect that can swing games out of nowhere and forces opponents to respect it from the first few turns of the game

    General Fight Club

You see a LOT of cards that can incidentally create Mayhem Devil triggers once you're keeping an eye out for them. Ideally I'd run both as they play out quite differently even in the decks that happily run both and many decks would only want one - Judith is an all-star in a no-frills BR Aggro...

    General CBS

That guy (who offers an interesting perspective) has a Cube for drafting and then builds a lot of singleton 40-card decks to test the limits of what an archetype could look like if it could play cards that are too narrow etc for Cube normally, which I think is what he's referring to there

    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

Cloudthresher is a cool card but relies on the Evoke mode being useful. If the aggro decks in your Cube are fast the self-damage on the ETB is likely a deal-breaker
