I was literally coming here to comment this, and you put it better than I ever could. I agree 100%!

    General "Looking for a card"-Thread

Korvold, Fae-Cursed King Fantastic general for Brawl, very simple yet powerful, works well with a wide range of good cards, and reasonably open-ended to boot! Krark, the Thumbless Great Burn Commander, plus has partner so it could feasibly expand into multiple colors. Krark Prowess Tokens with...

    Highball: Legacy of the Rails

Chris, I can't pin comments on the forums! Not quite sure about that, I think my Cube has a much higher floor than yours so the average deck might be a bit more well-equipped to handle it. I don't know yet, though, and testing could absolutely prove you correct! Unrelated– I hadn't looked at...

    Highball: Legacy of the Rails

I like Nettlecyst, and I almost added it a while back! I think it's a must-play if I try this route, especially with bridges in the basics box. Spike fits well with Stoneforge Mystic gaming, and Vault Skirge as a colorless one-drop is something I should probably be on as well. Pia Nalaar is a...

    Highball: Legacy of the Rails

I can't blame you for that, especially since there are probably over 3000 words between my two posts, and we're largely coming to similar conclusions anyway ;). With this point, are you proposing to simply add more artifact glue cards to the Cube or expand the basic land box to include more...

    General Tapping archetype

Oh, you meant creatures that cost more than three? I was just showing cards that make multiple bodies for the price of one card. Even so, there are a lot of cards which create multiple bodies for less than three mana: Seasoned Pyromancer Attended Knight Chatter of the Squirrel Saproling...

    General Tapping archetype

It's really easy. You just need things that are capable of making multiple creatures for the price of one card: Squirrel Nest Siege-Gang Commander Krenko's Command Gallant Cavalry Sling-Gang Lieutenant Invasion of Segovia Nest Invader Spectral Procession Sengir Autocrat Cloudgoat Ranger...

    Highball: Legacy of the Rails

Thank you! I love your new PFP as well ;). I've been doing some additional research into the differences between the two builds of Thopthers, and I've realized something: they're basically just different flavors of the same deck. Every U/R Thopters deck was basically taking the core Ensoul...

    General Tapping archetype

In low power it is, yeah. I don't think it's as good in fast formats, but that's more because it's easier to answer/get under/counter/outscale, not because it's any less miserable.

I just realized I have literally all of these nonland cards in my Cube lol. Really big fan of Satyr Wayfinder, I think that card is very fun to play with!

If you are ok with playing some really bad cards, Inspired works with this as well! God-Favored General Fellhide Spirit-Binder Satyr Nyx-Smith Born of the Gods was a "fun" time.

    Highball: Legacy of the Rails

The Frustrating Case of the Thopter Deck. Background I've wanted to support some sort of Blue/Red artifact deck in this Cube for a while. I still remember when the UR Thopters archetype came out of nowhere at Pro Tour Magic Origins, putting up a strong showing with two different versions of...

    General Custom Cards: The Lab

I think Communist also made more sense for the flavoring of some of these initial cards since about half were early 20th century revolutionaries and the other half were druid communes. The type was being used to represent different things than the word "comrade" implies. For future reference...

[500] CCC - Casual Champions Cube

I really enjoy long, self-reflective posts like this that talk about the history of Cube design, especially in the microcosm of one's own environment. I think you beautifully illustrate the frustration of needing something for an archetype but the perfect card not existing for 10+ years!

    Card/Deck Low Power Card Spotlight

This is an astute observation! I wonder how many Cubes fall into this category... Probably more than a few, right?
