General PWs to Cut and UR spells to run

UR has a bunch of really fun and powerful cards that don't offer anything unique - Fire // Ice, Izzet Charm, Electrolyze, Prophetic Bolt, etc Dack's Duplicate is kinda great (see upcoming post in 3-0 decks thread) but again, there are so many clones in blue that you don't *need* a gold one

I love the flipwalkers, I might just have to get a Nissa now (tfw you open a foil Kytheon and it's not even worth 1/4 of a normal Jace)

    FlowerSunRain's Cube

Tithe is a better card in general IMO, being able to play it for just 1 mana is so much better for that effect; also neat with Prowess, Snapcaster, etc

Rise // Fall would be perfect if it cost BB (and is pretty good anyway)

    Article ChannelFireball: Utility Land Draft

If I get the chance to draft this weekend I want to try out a separate land pack (i.e. all the lands that would be in the main draft + 'utility' lands), it sounds really promising pared down a bit I would try Blighted Steppe

    Card/Deck The Simic Combine

big fan of BDubs - if copying an opponent's creature you can still get value from your blink/bounce effects - works with Imperial Recruiter/Alesha/Reveillark as well as the many many ways to fetch/interact with creatures - one of the few non-black (/non-white) reanimation cards, in a colour...

Mishra's Bauble - Works with TOL theme, acts as a make-your-own-scry with a shuffle effect (notably fetchlands) - Also a make-your-own-fateseal with Thought Scour/Predict etc - Free prowess trigger and enabler for Glint Hawk/Kor Skyfisher - Turns Trinket Mage into Wistful Selkie - Cheap...

    General Draft Strategy

Planeswalkers also overpower whatever cute midrange stuff you're trying to build into your environment. I considered messing around with morph/manifest but realized I would have to make some sacrifices: Mastery of the Unseen versus any of the Elspeths isn't a fair fight

    General Draft Strategy

yeah, I'm shying away from planeswalkers that make bodies every turn because even if you can deal with it in the short term it just makes the next few turns a boring slog. Cards like Sun Titan or Cloudgoat Ranger sometimes do the same thing but I find that less offensive (maybe I shouldn't, who...

There's a key distinction between 'regulating' fun in the wider metagame and doing it inside a game. Maybe I don't want to play Legacy because I think the decks are too powerful or oppressive or whatever, so I don't find it fun; but if I do play Legacy, I'm not going to complain when my opponent...
