    General Fight Club

I appreciate the long-form response. I think your arguments are better in context. Most of what you are saying is largely correct, but there are a couple of points that I wish to respond to. In context, I see the point you are arguing against is playing 70, 80, or 90 lands at 36o Cube size...

    General "Looking for a card"-Thread

But in retail limited having a flier that can gain shroud, pump itself, and untap itself just wins games without support. You don't need to combine that card with Fire Whip (or any other cute combo piece for that matter) in order to make it better than mediocre. Like yeah Morphling might be...

    General "Looking for a card"-Thread

Morphling is too good in a retail context most of the time, save for really fast formats. Horseshoe Crab is an absolute lad who deserves a chance to shine.

Erik's "The cool side of Magic" cube

Honestly half of these cards are just good. And the other half are contextually good in a lot of environments. And Crow Storm is funny.

    General Custom Cards: The Lab

I don't see why they would be triggering– they do tap for mana in their own right! @blacksmithy care to explain?

    General Custom Cards: The Lab

Well, all of them, but specifically the first one that loaded, which is Ancient Boneyard.

    I really like this design!

    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

I was going to suggest this card as well, it is really fun!

    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

I'd like some more context than simply "Cube with land untappers," but I would imagine it is a little better as an engine piece than it might otherwise be. The fact that this card doesn't tap for mana in its own right makes it a little bit sketchy in general, unfortunately. However, if you can...

    General Fight Club

I mean, I've kind of done that with my Cube recently. The fixing is slightly skewed towards the enemy color combinations because I run the Triomes in addition to a color-balanced selection of Fetch and Dual lands. The dual land composition also varies a little by color. Every color gets a...

    Shamim's Cube

Wow these two are really pretty.

    General Fight Club

I don't agree with your reasoning here, and I'm going to explain why, but I want to start by saying that your underlying position (committing to an additional color has to mean something) is totally valid. An undesired "5 color soup" problem plagues many Cubes, and that can often lead to...

    Card/Deck Low Power Card Spotlight

This card is so good, I love it. It's grave hate, fixing, and a cantrip all in one card. So much value. So much synergy. Great card, 10/10 would play again.

    General Fight Club

I can concur, the unique cards you lose from having more fixing is well and truly made up for by the wacky decks that can become viable with better fixing– especially if you're playing enough untapped lands to make multicolor aggro viable. A little bit of extra fixing goes a long way :D

    General Fight Club

I don't like Lier at all, I think she has a worse floor than Kess because she costs more and doesn't have built-in evasion, but has a higher ceiling because she lets you cast as many spells each turn as you can afford. Cards with high internal power bands usually do not fix the issues of...

Mordor's Cube (The Ship of Theseus)

Maybe I should use this slot to test Croaking Counterpart :texas::mp:

General Favorite Cards You Don't Run

You know, I've been playing this card a lot lately and it has been really fun. It's a nice chunky reanimation target that sets the opponent back when it enters or dies, but doesn't end the game so quickly that they just auto-lose for facing this. Being only a 5/5, this guy takes a little while...

    Inscho's Graveyard Combo Cube

I really like a lot of these changes, I think you generally cut a bunch of clunky cards and added things with broader flexibility and utility. I'm not a big fan of losing Boon of the Wish-Giver in a Cube with a heavy cycling/discard theme. It has one of the most flexible cycling costs around...
