    General Companions, Yay or nay?

This should help a ton for other constructed formats, don't really think it matters for Cube. The ones that were interesting (like Yorion or Lurrus) are still good enough to include, the ones that were only attractive as a free 8th card probably weren't worth a cube slot in the first place.

    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

Oh dude, Retrofitter Foundry is actually insane. When it's part of a deck that can take full advantage it generates so much play. I successfully ran it in a U/R Artifacts shell and another one of my buddies had success with in a kind of B/W tokens deck. It's just a really really good card in...

    General +1/+1 counters in 2020

I'd say for me it's more centered in Green with some stuff in other colors and real payoffs in U/G. All of the cards in my cube that currently have any interaction(s) with +1/+1 counters are: Thalia's Lieutenant Mikaeus, the Lunarch Angel of Invention Heliod, Sun-Crowned Carrion Feeder Woe...

    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

Thoughts on... Oviya Pashiri, Sage Lifecrafter I'm trying to find more cross archetype overlap cards for my cube and I've had this one on the sidelines for a few years now. Never got around to testing it in cube for some reason. How does she actually play? Too slow?

General An auto-pick in synergy's clothing

I'd say that's the pickle when it comes to this design, right? You can focus primarily on synergies to make lower powered cards shine and create an immersive draft experience that may lack the highs in gameplay due to card complexity, or you can look to cards that have a higher power threshold...

    General Companions, Yay or nay?

I hope they don't wait too long to take action in Standard and Modern. No one is going to be playing in paper for a long time, but it would be super scummy to just let those formats flounder for months just to sell packs before taking action. I'm pretty sure this is exactly what's going to...

General An auto-pick in synergy's clothing

I think it's a very good card that requires some finessing to maximize the impact. I haven't had nearly as many cube sessions with it, but I have a friend that runs Rankle as his commander and we've been playing a lot of EDH over webcam over the last two months. The sacrifice mode is most...

No. But you really should clean out your pantry more often. And buy more granola bars. Thanks.

General An auto-pick in synergy's clothing

Great topic. As mentioned earlier in this thread, auto-picks are 100% relative to the power level of a given environment. What some of you have listed are cards that have been very good in my cube, but I've never really seen them as being all that problematic as far as synergies are concerned...

General "Dense" Commons in Ikoria Limited

I'd say card density is absolutely one of the key factors when I'm evaluating cards for inclusion. I love introduces nuanced interactions and various avenue for my drafters and I get excited when I see them come to life in an actual draft. Finding greater utility for cards and multiple...

    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

I remember when I first began cubing that Elspeth, Knight-Errant was one of the more powerful walkers available in the format and could straight up dominate games in multiple archetypes. Elspeth, Knight-Errant With current design, do you think she's still at that same power level or that the...

    Shamim's Cube

After a period of malaise when it came to cube design, and the fact that I woke up for some reason at 6AM this morning when I don't have work until 10:15AM, I've become reinspired to post a detailed write up and I'm going to focus on two cards I love from Ikoria that you should take a look at...

    General Cultic Cube video series

I'm just excited to see real cubes put together by enthusiasts finally getting the spotlight. The MTGO cubes were... lacking to say the least. I don't play Magic digitally so I'll never actually get to play either of your offerings, but I'm glad to see so many people having a good time with it...

    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

The first rule of Riptide Lab is: You do not talk about Riptide Lab. The second rule of Riptide Lab is: You do not talk about Riptide Lab. Third rule of Riptide Lab: Someone yells "Tempo!", goes on a tangent, taps out, the discussion is over. Fourth rule: Only two to three cards to a fight.

    General Cube draft with bots

I think it's only a matter of time before CC catches up as far as draft AI is concerned. Early on my cube was way too easy to draft, but I think the bots are start to catch on as far as fixing is concerned as I can't really wheel a dual land all that often anymore. I'd give it a few months...

    Shamim's Cube

Unfortunately I don't have a cube report for you guys with current COVID conditions, but I figured now was as good a time as any to get to reviewing some Cube supplies that I picked up last year and have been using for a while now. Specifically I picked up the CardBearer carrying set and...

    General Fight Club

Are you looking for a discard outlet with extra play to it or an aggressive flyer? Heir is better in generic aggro decks pushing through that guaranteed 3 damage in the air, Prowler checks off more boxes in terms of utility serving as a multiple use discard outlet. For a purely aggressive 2...

    General Fight Club

Bellower doesn't trample though, he just gets chumped forever. Prime Time can actively end games by pushing through damage and thinning your deck of extra unnecessary land draws. Bellower is very mediocre unless it's fetching up an impact 3 drop.
