I quite like Ultimate Price as it can pick off any creature except the multicoloured archetype payoff creatures, allowing it to disrupt engines without crippling them completely.

I find this very curious. WotC have done/have announced a number of things I consider irksome, but DMU seems respectful of the lore, captures some of the feel of Invasion block draft, and is a solid set mechanically. Seems an odd hill to die on.

Poor Mark Tedin. If the M30 art director felt the need to crop the image that harshly, they could at least have left the signature out of the frame rather than transplanting it back into the image.

Often when I play Midnight Reaper it is the first creature my opponent targets with removal, so at least I am up a card on the deal. Haruspex allows my opponent to trade one for one, and often gain a little tempo into the bargain.

I did keep damage on the stack with a past play group, up until about 2013. Then I moved house and my new cube group also played other formats, so used the new rules. In your example, if the archer had first strike it could still be bounced after dealing damage, even using modern rules.
