    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

It will have wild variance though. Because against an aggro deck, it will whiff 98% of the time (super loose fucking math). Against control, it will be better than thoughtseize (seasoned with hyperbola). That's a bit too much variance for my taste, by YMMV.

Not in most riptide cubes because the mana curve is so low. This is probably playable in dragon cubes though.

Card/Deck How to execute a minimalist Enchantment theme

Enchantress is fun. The one time I saw it do exceptionally well was in a a Abzan aggro/control shell. Deck didn't look good on paper but it won a lot of games. I think the key was that it ran stuff like Oblivion Ring. Things that are good on their own and are just insane value when they have...

That's nifty. I wish someone would make flip (kamigawa style) versions. I might even run a few of them assuming I could get quality proxies (i.e. not on a home printer). Delver for example looks cool, but I refuse to run transform cards in my cube.

Sweet. Thanks. I might have to find a spot for it. Also, why are people high on Declaration in Stone. I pulled one of those too, saw it was $10 on StarCityGames and thought WTF? Exile is cool. Any creature is cool. Sorcery sucks. Giving my opponent a token that can draw them a card...

Card/Deck How to execute a minimalist Enchantment theme

I haven't tested the new set yet, but I have high hopes that Delirium has a natural home in my enchantment/heroic/prowess module. They all play nice together in theory. Where I'm going with that is maybe you don't need to run every questionable enchantment creature out there. Maybe it's enough...

I pulled a Giestblast in a pack last night. Someone sell me on it. The art is sweet. This isn't better than Electrolyze right? I'm having a hard time evualating that fork effect.

    General Fight Club

I echo this (though I like Hermit more than Aoret does). Thragtusk is the first cut I'd make because it's basically a splashable bomb for 5 mana. Fuck that card.

Exactly this. I wish those counters were tied to Meren. Or she didn't have that text at all. Honestly, she's good enough without it.

    Sets Spoilers Over Innistrad (Digest)

MTGS has written off Gitrog Monster as not being good enough. That means it's perfect for your average riptide cube. That's a pretty consistent trend, so anyone worried about it being too good should really take a second look and test it. And Meren is broken. I love the card but I might have...

    Sets Spoilers Over Innistrad (Digest)

Glad someone brought up Skeleton Key. I initially dismissed it because of Mask of Memory (which draws 2 instead of 1). But is Skulk worth swaping cost/equip cost and losing one on the draw? I still don't think so, but curious what everyone else's opinion on that was.

    General Blue creatures

Whelk is very good with blink effects too. He's a little slow and telegraphed. I've mentioned this before but someone should make a custom version with evoke. 0/0 with 1UU evoke would be a stellar card but not broken I don't think.

    General Blue creatures

If you want a milder Aetherling, just run Morphling. It's still very playable in riptide power level cubes.

Tap two Swamps. Play Doom Blade targeting... Grillo. :) Tap a Plains. Enchant myself with Gryff's Boon. Swing.

That's my thought as well. And I'm really trying to encourage more of this line of thinking too to get away from midrange durddle. Part of helping that is giving aggressive tools that have late game utility. Because the biggest road block for committed aggressive decks is not having a late...

Gryff's Boon is technically better, not just because of the constellation interactions but also because it cannot ever really be destroyed. Disenchant is not good enough as you can just play it again from the yard. It's also something that can feed a discard outlet and still be attached to...

My main modular cube tutor list (450) is probably 95% accurate. I have not updated each module. I put the whole thing in cube tutor for my group and exactly zero people looked at it. So unless someone here really wants to see it, I'm not planning on bothering going forward. I manage my list...

I'm rating the recur part of the card very highly because I've seen a lot of games where you have an aggressive deck that just needs a way to get one guy through to seal the deal. That is how I've seen silent departure used. It's not about the tempo loss of them recasting what you bounce, it's...

Sets Shadows over Innistrad Spoilers Thread

FWIW, I didn't like Hyena Umbra when I ran it. And I think Gryff's Boon is better because flying > FS and (IMO at least) being able to recur it is better than the totem effect. I really don't think 4 mana is too much for the effect. I could be completely off base here, but I'm basing it off of...
