What about Command the Dreadhorde as an alternative?

Looking for UW card which is an artifact payoff or support card. Glassdust Hulk and Aerial Engineer are a little low power level. I'm thinking of adding either Thopter Foundry or Dovin, Grand Arbiter but open to other suggestions.

It's a bigger better Nekretaal but really, how interesting is Nekretaal? I think you can do better at 6 mana in black for a midrange/control finisher.

Well I'm sold, I'll definitely be giving it a try. Between this and Spikeshot Elder, I can see maybe the seedlings of a red "power matters" or "grow power" theme being possible. Anything else that might work with these? Krenko, Tin Street Kingpin maybe? Spikeshot Goblin, Bloodshort Trainee...

The Grand Calcutron I thought it might be funny, if not necessarily good, but it just made people miserable.

Oketra's Monument I tried it on a whim not expecting it to do very much and now it's one of my favourite cards in the cube.

If you're doing an order from a retailer, see if you can join it with someone else to split shipping costs. I mostly use Magic Card Market as well now, and I think TCGPlayer is the equivalent in the US.

Anyone had any experience with Thopter Foundry This would be in a cube without Sword of the Meek.

I'd rather lose than cast a Snapcaster for no value. At least my conscience would be clear.

But it did lead to "I give fear to all my legal targets" which is one of the best Genius/Grifter moments in Magic.

I thought it was intentional, like you're meant to take a second to register the orientation.

Purecast is my favourite, followed by Affinity for Basics and Primal/Basic. I don't really like Monofuel. Empower I find hard to work out how good it will be in practice, but my instinct is that it's too swingy, in that it's either not much of an extra cost or you can't even cast the card...
