This has not been my experience when reading one of WotC:s own handouts, rather it's given me a reference point of where I'm taking the draft. If the color pair really is deep, I think people that are interested in exploring that depth will explore it.

It would be a very nice refreshment compared to the recent trend in sets of having some extremely set specific mechanic, and a bunch of tribal cards around that mechanic. I want to be able to play with all the cards from the last few sets together!

Honestly I feel like Wizard should have the courage to just lean into this great game they've made. Imagine getting a few main sets ONLY creatively re-using existing mechanics. We know they know how to do this! They do it all the time in sets like Modern Horizons. I would love for all these...

After having played a little bit, I have to say that I actually like how backup plays. Pretty easy to grock putting all abilities on a different card for a turn.

Skirmish or feud would be an interesting thing. Maybe a feud can only be attacked by a single creature at a time, and that creature can only be blocked by a single creature?

I enjoy that this forum can sometimes be deeply unserious

I have to agree here, I think some of the best gimicky themes are the ones that are based around just playing the game normally and incidentally tapping into some fun interaction

I think it doesn't really matter for proliferate but, for a keyword like "scavenge" you will get hits for cards referring to their own name like Scavenger Folk if you only search in the oracle text.
