I don't expect for the UW-SPM cards to be a cohesive set. I am happy when they find solutions that aren't too silly for each card individually. Considering these typelines, that could be tough, though. Spiders in all colors that mostly don't do spidery things, spider heroes even and worse.

Yeah, but be aware that the Guardian will probably get played by any blue deck (can be upside or downside) whereas the kraken will most likely only make certain deck lists (again, up- or downside, depending on what you want).

I like everything you say. All those cards you consider seem appropriate and fun, except ... Massacre Wurm. I don't think that card is very fun if you're mid/lower power level. It can wreck a whole board, is completely one-sided and it can't be overstated how annoying that static ability is even...

I could see that. But it would be tricky if you have spells payoffs, like prowess creatures or such that want to be on the board before you cast all your spells, because that's the opposite of what you want with ramp spells. I guess these spells ramp twice for stuff like Tolarian Terror.

I think you can support both, big ramp and small ramp (I'm not using that term that sounds like twelve-year-olds talking about sex). Have enough ramp that if someone really prioritizes it (mostly drafting mono green) they can be the all-in big version, but not so much that every green deck needs...

I think excluding ramp completely is just a matter of taste. If you don't like the play pattern of ramping, you can leave it out I guess. Stuff like “no one mana ramp cards” on the other hadn, sounds like a reasonable balancing tool. However, there would also be the option to limit the power...

I'm team Adventures. Getting an etb that you have to pay for but can do so in installments, love that. You can't blink an Omen creature for value or get a double spell cast. Also, Omens mean more shuffling.

Nah, it can't really whiff. If you hold no 1/2/3 drops, you just don't activate it. So, the failcase is a three mana 2/3, which I can live with. Think I'm gonna try her. I have a copy each of Trenches and Baird to switch in immediately if she's a flop.
