    Card/Deck Low Power Card Spotlight

Yes, much better but I probably still wouldn't play it. It still requires to be heavily into a madness-like archetype. Personally, I would always look into cards like Faithless Looting, Burning-Fist Minotaur or Voldaren Epicure first, that are less reliant on a Rootwalla in your hand.

So, the set itself will be reprints in boosters, but there are decks alongside with partly new cards?

Sets (MoM) April of the Machines Previews

I disagree that 4 or 6 colors or no sorceries would be improvements. I think 5 colors is the perfect, sweet spot of enough variation and not too many factions for drafting and mana bases. And sorceries are a valuable design tool; instead of getting rid of them, they should've make instant a...

    General Custom Cards: The Lab

Yeah, at first, I thought it was comparable to Big Score, but then realized it is a 3-for-1 instead of a 2-for-2. 'They discard one at random and you draw two from their deck', basically, seems fine for a gold card at four mana and sorcery speed, BUT than there is also the ramp aspect. Imagine...

Sets (MoM) April of the Machines Previews

I've just learned that the legend reprints are like a bonus sheet, meaning we'll have one legend reprint in it's respective home plane's showcase treatment in every draft booster. That like the best news so far regarding this set, for me at least. It really makes drafting interesting (I loved it...

    General Custom Cards: The Lab

Team Rocket's Theft {2}{B}{R} Sorcery Exile the top card of target opponent's library and a card at random from their hand. You may play those cards until the end of your next turn. Create two treasure tokens. I have a hard time figuring out whether this card is bad, bonkers or anything between.

It is an upgrade over Telling Time ... but not a massive one. I don't think I'd want it over Opt, Consider, maybe even Thought Scour in some decks.

Huh, I guess I dismissed Stone-Seeder Hierophant too quickly for my Ravnica's 9th Disctrict cube, which utilizes only cards from the 'magic year' 05/06 and therefore has a pretty low powerlevel, where it might be good enough as printed. Not sure how much Gx superramp is a thing though. Okay...

    General Custom Cards: The Lab

Digside {U}{B} Enchantment Whenever you discard a card for the first time each turn, create a treasure token. Whenever you discard a card for the second time each turn, draw a card. So wizards would probably don't print that design in an eternal world I'd guess, but how good is it in...

    General "Looking for a card"-Thread

Yes, totally agree with Taamas and bootman. Counting cards like Figure of Destiny or Nightveil Specter as gold card seems very appropriate (as long as monocolor decks aren't relevant at least, at which point they become their own category).

I'd cut: Time Wipe for being so easily replaceable with a monocolor card Silumgar because I dislike hexproof and it doesn't do anything special Rakdos Cackler because it belongs in a hybrid (or mono) section Xenagos I guess ..? Finks because it's totally not a gold card as well Ashen Rider...

General (ONE) Phyrexia: All will be One Testing/Includes Thread

It has EIGHT lines of text. That's a lot for a card that often enough play like Suntail Hawk or Network Disruptor in my cube's white decks. And I've found delirium to be incredible annoying to track. People continuously have to track whether that one card was a sorcery or an instant or they...

I think I found the first definite test for me Swooping Lookout Flying Men+ have traditionally been good in my cube, and this one isn't only an evasive aggro dude, it's also an artifact. That's cool. And I've been looking for a less convoluted replacement for Topplegeist.

Probably, that doesn't mean that this "jank pile" was a better cube than your well curated list. It just felt fresh and exciting, because you didn't know what to expect. Maybe it's the act of thinking about it, that makes it less exciting. Longterm you'd probably have less fun with the pile than...

    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

Isn't this card just a better version of it? Ratchet Bomb Can kill enchantments and, if you want, uptick right away. Seems worth it over killing manlands to me, but of course that depends on their density in a given cube.

I always tell them, that almost half the cards they're picking won't end up in their deck - unless they pick up some lands. Whether those are fixing lands, Barren Moor or Mihra's Factory. Sometimes it works. What really worked was, when I was playing against a less enfranchised friend at mono...

    Brirro's Variant Cube

Well there is no weak theme per se. It all depends on how you build around it of course. If you really try to maximize on power level, madness and dredge will probably fall off. And so do Ninjas for the most part, I think. But you don't have to go down all that low either. I think you could have...
