    Card/Deck Elite Equipments

I made a slight revision to this thread today. I removed a portion where I called Sword of Body and Mind's combat damage trigger the worst in the sword cycle. While I believe it is much lower impact than many people are giving it credit for, I think it's probably closer to the middle of the...

    Card/Deck Equipment Matters (white+)

I don't know if this is of any help to you but I wrote in-depth about equipments a couple months ago. Although my thread is focusing more on a small Stoneforge Mystic // Stone Haven Outfitter package than a massive archetype, I think a lot of the ideas I express there fit reasonably well with...

    Sets [KHM] Kaldheim Official Previews

They changed Planeswalkers away from this to what they are now because the original design "Made Planeswalkers feel Stupid." This design happened to work for sagas because stories don't need to feel like intelligent beings. If the board state changes between the first and second chapter of a...

    Sets [KHM] Kaldheim Official Previews

Remember that all but two of the tribal payoffs we've seen so far are not in the main draft set, just the Set/Theme/Collector boosters. The only two tribal cards we've seen so far which are in the main set are Magda and Realmwalker, neither of which seem particularly parasitic as they are either...

Card/Deck Artifacts in Cube - Yes, but how?

Well, I can give you a link to DBS's old cube thread. It hasn't been updated since January of this year, but that was after the post to which you are referring so I'm assuming many of the same principles apply... DBS's Cubetutor Cube Thread

    Card/Deck The Saga of Cubing

Yes, I run (or have run) a lot of Sagas: History of Benalia The Birth of Meletis Elspeth Conquers Death The Antiquities War Tymaret Calls the Dead Phyrexian Scriptures The eldest reborn The Flame of Keld The First Iroan Games You don't need to do anything to support them- the best sagas are...

    Sets [KHM] Kaldheim Official Previews

Wow! What a great new equipment! I can't wait to tutor it up with my Stoneforge Mystic! Wait, I can't actually do that because it's on the back half of the card? Wow. - - - This card is like, actually pretty decent, I just don't like that the equipment part of the card is on the back. I think...

-So then clearly you don't dislike tribal you just don't like lazy design. -Of course these cards weren't going to be playable, they were made for the non-competitive products (although Youthful Valkyrie might be fine depending on how many good changelings are in this set).

No it's not, Muxus, Goblin Grandee and Conspicuous Snoop were just printed in June :p However, I think we can all agree that this is the best Trilobite, Brushwagg, and Noggle lord we've seen in a long time... :p

    Sets [KHM] Kaldheim Official Previews

No. Tribal is cool, and it's not difficult to bake a tribal archetype into a set without having to make it feel parasitic. For example, in my cube, I have a Zombie Tribal sub theme in black because one of my drafters really likes zombies. Despite this, I'm only spending one slot on cards that I...

    Sets [KHM] Kaldheim Official Previews

No, it's the wrong colors and it doesn't work on the axis storm usually tries to win with (it's payoff is bigger creatures as opposed to direct damage or mill, and storm decks don't usually want creatures). This card's main role is as a curve topper for aggressive Boros decks, where it...

    Card/Deck Low Power Card Spotlight

I think Burn decks would be happy to play an ETB tapped land if it drew them an infinite stream of Spikefield Hazards forever. I don't think this card is that good, but I think the decks that could be hellbent are happy to have this effect. The biggest thing stopping this card from being...

    Parthenopaeus's Pivot Cube

So I'll touch on these more when I write down my full analysis of your cube (which is really sweet by the way), but as far as lands are concerned, 40 dual lands just isn't really enough to let decks have consistent fixing at 475, especially when some of the cycles are extremely slow like the...

    The Black Cube

I wouldn't call that a betrayal of the theme, but I would worry about people trying to play actual non-black decks if this were a change I were to make if I were in charge of the black cube. Right now, there's no reason to play a deck without black cards. However, if something like Sphinx's...

    Parthenopaeus's Pivot Cube

I've drafted this cube a few times now. There are a lot of really cool concepts at play here, but also a few structural things which could potentially spoil some drafts for some people. It's evident that you've put a lot of time and effort into this list, which is good to see. I'd like to do a...

    Card/Deck Low Power Card Spotlight

Smashing is one of the best MDFCs in general, and all MDFCs are good in cube. Even the bad ones. I think stuff like Akoum Warrior is better than something like Flamekin Village, because even thought the warrior isn't great, it's never just a land like Village.
