Pretty bad if it can't be podded into. Closest thing I've run like that was Sea Gate Oracle, and he actually draws you a card.
Probably worse than omenspeaker? *Shrug*
-Printing paper and putting them in a sleeve is probably the best way. Fast and easy. Tell her it's cheaper than buying all these yourself. You don't even need a good printer for these to look good. I've got a 5 year old 20$ printer, and people confuse my printouts for being the real card...
Yeah I tried some mono white travel prep custom cards in my last draft (w1, flashback W2), and they were insane.
Both people were in GW anyways, but I wonder if I should just put prep in
Possibly. Nighthawk has a lot on that card, and black needs it more than white does, but depending on brainstorm density they could be good.
I feel like I'd want the forms more because the miss mode is less embarassing though
Bumbeh: Proxy! No shame in giving cards a test run and collecting them over time, cubes are a huge financial outset already between sleeves and shit, nobody (sane) expects you to shill out for 400+ cards all for the fun of providing a service to your playgroup
Me too (Mostly), but sometimes you do need something generic, or someone asks you for advice on their cube. Sure it's better to have them parse things out for themselves, but it can be rather insulting to say "Well, you look at it. What do you think is wrong?"
Interesting points. There is something to be said for not actually telling people what archetypes are there to see what comes through in the design and what doesn't (Rule #1 of playtesting: Never tell your testers anything)
Not everyone is going to belabor each and every card though, which can...
I tried 3 fetch/2 fetchable, and it just doesn't feel as good, since a lot of the time you've got ones that only fetch one of your colors (Arid Mesa in GR for example) and once you've fetched out your one taiga it's a worse basic. Bad feels.
