    The Black Cube

I don't think this card is anywhere close to Wild Mongrel in terms of power level. I think you need a lot of dedicated outside of some madness cards for this one to cut it in most environments. I think your cube is in a unique position for Stromkirk Condemned to be good because {B}{B} is not...

These graphs are really interesting to review. Hopefully we can get back to 2015/16 levels of posting again!

    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

I'm testing this card at a relatively high power level. I have no data with this card yet. This Jace is more of a card that acts only as a card advantage engine and not anything oppressive, so I think this card is fine at several different power levels.

I do not have such a button on a desktop computer.

    Unpowered Fair Stuff

I'm liking some of the swaps so far, but I believe you are using a strictly worse Shock art. Clearly the best shock is the English mystical archive version and not the Japanese mystical archive version. :texas:

Yeah, Sea Snidd is so much more powerful than Kianne, Dean of Substance it's just plain sad.

I think some of the designers who intentionally build low-power Cubes or Cubes that do not prioritize hyper-consistent gameplay are perhaps having a hard time seeing where Funch is coming from. If you've been playing Kor Skyfisher to good effect for a decade and then someone comes in and tells...

    General [STX] Strixhaven Spoilers

Is your argument not that you believe it is not productive to discuss the base rates and power level of cards because you think experienced designers already mostly know how these things work? I think that there is a lot of nuance that can be spawned from discussions of power level and rate in...

I used to think it was spelled like that.

    Sigh, again?

Well, I know you've already seen my post in Erik's thread, so I'd reccomend trying to reach the densities of reanimation effects and targets listed there. To fill out your gold slots, you could use Ashen Rider and Obzedat's Aid, as those are both good cards that support the reanimation strategy...

    Sigh, again?

Have you considered Reanimator? Otherwise, I like Corpse Knight, but I feel that card really wants to be in some sort of combo deck where it can trigger several times in one turn off of like Rally the Ancestors or something.

    General [STX] Strixhaven Spoilers

I think this is a very bad take. Card rates and power level as a tool to decide whether or not a card is worth playing. Asking yourself "is this card better or worse than this other card that can lead to a similar outcome" is a really good way to help choose cards. Consider these three cards...

    General [STX] Strixhaven Spoilers

Well, it is productive to talk about cards in terms of power level, it's just not everyone's individual design goals care about power level alone. Lots of people here are ok with playing mediocre cards as long as they can do something some amount of the time. To them, it's less about "how much...

Erik's "The cool side of Magic" cube

I totally forgot to put Karmic Guide on the list! I was so busy looking for the list of spells I forgot the good creature! I updated the last post to include it!

I agree Engineer can be really powerful in the correct deck. However, it requires a lot of baubles in the Cube to be a truly great value engine. It has all of the right ingredients to be good, but it needs some amount of space dedicated to cards that work with it in order to function optimally...

Erik's "The cool side of Magic" cube

Well, I can help you with that! As it stands, the two big issues seem to be that reanimator decks can't come together often enough and that even when they do come together, the threats are easily answered. There are ways to combat both of these issues, Part 1: Reanimation Density The first...

I've tested this card in the past, and it's not really all that great unless you have specifically built around it. The ability to Entomb an artifact is cool, but can be hard to leverage. I think it might be a cool card for Japahn's occasionals section, but I think it's a little too wierd for...

    General Fight Club

I think adding an extra payoff to the 2-MV slot in the core module seems like a good idea. Almost all of the artifact support in your core module are also just generically good cards, so they don't really point towards the artifact deck specifically outside of being decent playables in those...

    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

Trying to make Sneak Attack work in a snynergy-based cube seems like it isn't worth the effort. It requires playing a lot of hard to cast creatures that walk the very thin line between "absolutely busted" and "not worth the effort to get into play." There might be some cute shenanigans with...

    General Fight Club

I think Magda is more "elegant" because she doesn't have anything to do with energy. However, I think Aether Chaser is a better card in a vacuum, even without other energy support. I think it was even good enough for @SirFunchalot's cube when he was still running mono-red aggro, although that...
