Mortarpod is like blasting station but almost playable on it's own. I find it's a lot more fair, and actually impacts the board. Less of a ceiling, but still good.

I am up front with my drafters about that. There's no way Lost Shepard is being printed so long as Gravedigger is good in limited, but cube wise he's fine, if WAY over the jedi curve. I feel all my cards that can't really be printed are fine from a cube standpoint

I'll respond more later, but while gargadon costs R, he's not really the same animal as jackel pup. Have you tried Mogis's Warhound? He's one of my favorites recently, and if double strike is your thing he gets extra sweet
