Correct. And well explained. It doesn’t matter that it is a fallacy to the average player. It can feel bad.

Again, none of that is relevant to the feeling that the average player will experience if they don’t have the knowledge that we have on Riptide. Imagine you are an Arena player and not @Rusje. Imagine you exile Slip out the Back pre combat. Or imagine you exile the only card in your deck that is...

I don’t totally disagree with you @Rusje The expected outcome of paying {2} and sacrifice Clue is to draw a card. This will almost never leave the player disappointed because the card will al ost always be drawn. The expected outcome of Junk is much more varied and thus will leave to more...

Not really relevant though. It is going to lead to more feels-bad moments than the others like Clue or Treasures. That’s a fact. I’m not saying if this is good or bad or anything else. Just that some players will sometimes have a feel-bad moment because of the nature of the design.

Because sometimes you will not be able to cast the card. Maybe it’s a combat trick or a counterspell. Or too expensive. Many options.

Junk could have been named Treasure and it would have suited fine :P I think it will be a nice addition to the game. Sad about the naming because it’s restricting it to real world items.

You can say it will leave the players with more feels-bad moment for sure when the card cannot be played.

There's only two costs. The tapping and the sacrificing of the token. No mana cost. So you would always sacrifice this token if you feel like you have the available mana to cast whatever could be coming and you have nothing better to do. I think this is what Mapi was talking about.

I just saw the tapped. So it will ‘never’ really be a copy of a Fetch land. It can be a Mirage land if you already have a Fetch land in the graveyard. Echoing Deeps

That Tomb also seems broken to play pre-flipped. Like better than Library of Alexandria broken but maybe this is what the play group wants. I think it would be fun to try a format like that.

@TrainmasterGT Never thought about it as an additional Fetch land. More difficult with the cyclers and the man land because then we would have to draw the cave in the late game. Do you think it could be a 12th Fetch land in stuff like Commander? (I’m thinking mostly about competitive Duel...

I guess those two specific decks would think about considering including a Lotus Petal and one of those decks would have almost no use for a Map token.

As much as I would love to have a cube that could run the Kaladesh Invention version of Lotus Petal I cannot imagine a situation where a player would include it in a deck. It is worth so little that it’s hard to justify. The last 10 years that is. Map however can be a full land card that you...

I just noticed my quote (in your quote hehe) Any chance you can remember the full contect next time? When I say ‘I think’ I believe it is important to include. I understand you, me and others have to sometimes cut out things for clarity. But the most important part of the sentence will always...

I think Fanatical Offering is more powerful than Deadly Dispute because I think Maps are a lot stronger than Treasures.

But then you have other options, right? I’m not against having options though :) I just feel like you didn’t need this new card because you could already do the same. Like Quasiduplicate for instance. Anyways I have said what I wanted to say <3
