Not a bad idea. I believe they were going down this direction when they introduced Alchemy. Perhaps if Alchemy had been a huge succes it could slowly have evolved this way and eventually after 10 years we would have two different games with different ruled, formats and cards. However Alchemy...

I would like to see a card that puts finality counters on enemy creatures in the future.

    • some counters in the set: bore, chorus, dread, finality, landmark, lore, net, point, stun, and time; one of which is a new deciduous counter. So finality is the deciduous counter?

    General Custom Cards: The Lab

Those are some really good advices I would say. If I may add Have focus on your game being FUN. Fun is more important than strategically complicated. Create deep mechanics over broad mechanics. And pretty early in your process it is a good idea to have some playtest days with people who are NOT...

    General Custom Cards: The Lab

@Onderzeeboot 1. Landfall. I would agree with you here. 2. Stained Glass. Okay let’s call it the Elder Dragon frame since it was used on the five original Elder Dragons that started a whole format. 3. Adventure. Yes that sucks. 4. Invocation. No I mean Invocation. Like this one...

    General Custom Cards: The Lab

Okay what about the Adventure frame? (Only cards with Adventure) Or the Invention frame? (Only artifacts) Or the Invocation frame? (Only instants and sorceries) Or the Landfall frame? (Only landfall permanents) Or the Stained Glass frame? (Only planeswalkers)

No? It can definetely support Golems in colorless. This one’s not for me though.

    General Custom Cards: The Lab

@safra Haha that’s a good point! :P I used to be able to remember them all and distinguish between them easily. But lately it’s not as easy anymore with non-enchantment creatures having the enchantment frame. https://scryfall.com/sets/mom My point was that it used to mean something. Now it...

    General Custom Cards: The Lab

I agree. There was a time when Wizards used frames as a way to tell us something. For instance the Theros Nyx frames look like stars in the sky because they wanted to be sure we would notice that the creatures were also enchantments so we didn’t forget during the games that Naturalize shoots...

It was not so weak. Many morph cards saw play in various formats. Especially Standard and Extended which were the two most popular formats by the time. Mind you that it wasn't 3 mana 2/2 where you had to pay extra to unlock it's average power level. When you had paid both the 3 mana and the...

@Phone 's design > The Brothers' War design But that's a given since Wizards designed Brothers artifacts how they WOULD have designed them in 1993.

Yeah it's pretty low power but if you are low power then it's pretty damn interesting I would say. It has ETB draw. It can have ETB gain 4 life. Your cube would have to run quite a lot of ETB tapped lands in order to feel rewarding though.

Sets (WHO) Dr. Who Testing/Includes Thread

I think land is interesting from a power perspective. It could see some play in some formats. Cyberman spell has the big issue that it leaves a 2/2 behind. No competitive format can allow that to happen. You’re just getting run over.

Can this Golem Kindred be done at colorless only or does it need a color?
