Yeah, and channel is, unlike kicker, not even a keyword, just an ability word. Therefore there are enough cards that could've been channel but didn't get it.

Channel is to discard mechanics what kicker is for kicker mechanics. Every other one is a variant on it, like said cycling or bloodrush.

I think it comes down to artifact synergies versus spell synergies.

Also the selfmill in all colors at common. It really fits it's environment like a glove and probably would just be a solid C in most other retail environments even.

I think it would do well in something compareable to my main cube, which is lower powered, but beyond that I have doubts.

I've always hoped they would make charge counters the evergreen artifact counters. That would open a lot of design space, like "when this creature etbs, put a charge coumter on target artifact."

Bringing this thread back because the annouced big change to magic with MOM kinda drives me crazy. Does that mean we could get a rules change? A new card type/zone/phase? Instant supertype? Aaaargh
