    General Too Many Lands

I was thinking of the implications of something similar. For example, two-color decks splashing a third would have 3n picks to get their third color (where 'n' is how many groups of 5 of these you included). I haven't *reallllly* thought about it, but it seems interesting. Sadly, the logistical...

I'm Going Gaga for Grid Drafting

Exactly! The niche card support is one of the big draws to designing for the grid format. I'd love to see a lower-powered graveyard grid (possibly with a lands theme). The set-inspired grids have felt pedestrian, so I would work on going far beyond retail limited for inspiration (unless you...

I'm Going Gaga for Grid Drafting

My brain is not parsing out your question correctly; would you please restate it? And thank you for the interest! Kirblinx has a lot of fantastic pieces of feedback scattered throughout our grid sessions if you want to consider some other choices prior to making any decisions...

I'm Going Gaga for Grid Drafting

Thanks for enjoying, Alfonzo! The genus of this rule was a desire for some level of uncertainty that a particular card or combination of cards will show up in any given draft. Since the grids are being drafted in 16 three-by-three groups, 144 cards are needed for a grid draft and anything...

I'm Going Gaga for Grid Drafting

Updated 2021.07.16 - update to approach & methodology For those who haven't read Jason's CFB article on 4c grid, I suggest doing so prior to continuing on: http://www.channelfireball.com/home/grid-tenchester-and-cutting-a-color-from-the-cube/ Why am I obsessed with grid drafting (beyond it...

    General Too Many Lands

I've drafted four cubes with "free" cards: Two with ULDs. With minor fixing lands included, the Rochester component at the end felt a little imbalanced (when my deck was feigning for another fixer, and I was late in the pick order). It didn't really change the "cube-ness" of the experience...

    General Too Many Lands

I have a noncyclic manabase in a grid that has seemed to work out well. Maybe Kirblinx can add to it as he had suffered the design on a few occasions. http://www.cubetutor.com/visualspoiler/59149 Auntie's Hovel to support gobbos better than control. WB painland to support Cabal Therapy into...

    General Too Many Lands

I like dual color lands that decks will play if they only have one of the colors: Temple of Deceit Dimir Aqueduct These lands have subtle spell-like qualities that warrant inclusion for non manafix reasons. There is no reason for them to go toooo late and provide free or useless fixing.

    The Music Thread

Sadly, I couldn't get into the CRJ album (as i do enjoy some bubblegum pop with female vox). Right now, I'm hoping to see another Hayley Stewart involved project (darkwave synthpop stuffs). Not 100% on the songs, but i LOVE her voice

    Card/Deck Low Power Card Spotlight

I won a mbs som som draft where i kept no lands on the draw. .. and curved out to turn 5. Mss and nms are two of my favorite all-time formats. More-so than Isd x3. The bombs can be annoying, but drafting had soooo much tension.

A friend and I made "Chess" decks patterned after a Duelist magazine article. I got the white deck. Who do you think won more? Black Knight Unholy Strength VERSUS White Knight Holy Strength

I have this in my Pikula tribute grid, but it's yet to been played. Hoping to see it in (1) Replenish/Starfield of Nyx, (2) 4c control or (3) midrange RW (with Thick-Skinned Goblins).
