Considering I try to get everything in the most recent regular border, and I always avoid special frames, sets like this are a deep dive in sidegrades for me. Seeker of the Way Now with flavor bar! Oona's Prowler New border, updated wording, and yes, flavor bar! Very excited for this reprint...

Huh. I didn't realize that part of the text is spelled out on all the cards for clarity only, but I guess I could have, since other effects explicitly say "under its owner's control". Amazing :) I'ld still change the wording to since that is how WotC themselves spell out this effect. Still...

The correct wording is "Put target creature card from a graveyard onto the battlefield under your control." Rise from the Grave has almost the exact wording you're looking for, except it makes the target a black zombie instead of a spirit :)

One small note, as written, the third chapter will reanimate an opponent's creature on their side of the battlefield, since it doesn't specify "under your control" at the end of the first sentence. I have no clue if this was intended, but I thought I'ld point it out.

I mean, I get what you're saying, but you're reasoning from a completely different frame of mind than the curator of a Pauper of Peasant cube does. Neither approach is wrong in my mind, it just depends on your goals. Pauper and Peasant are very strong identities that offer plenty of design...

But that's not the goal. The goal is "I want to create an enjoyable cube experience using only commons" (for Pauper cubes), or "using only commons and uncommons" (for Peasant cubes). It's just as arbitrary as my goal of creating an enjoyable cube experience using an alternate color wheel, or...

I don't want to jinx it, but it looks like I'm one of the lucky ones. The dizziness is all but gone, and I'm working from the office again after managing an entire workday from home yesterday without any difficulties. So yay for a speedy recovery! :) Thanks for all the sweet well-wishes everyone!

Probably not the answer you were hoping for, but today hasn't been fantastic. Last night was rough, with spells of dizziness, and this morning my darling wife (who's a family doctor) diagnosed me with benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV). If you ask me, that 'benign' is a bit of a euphemism.

I got inspired by a Julie Dillon piece. This saga represents four generations of women and the four different points in time they represent: past, present, immediate future, and distant future. For play experience, it might be better to reverse the order, but I liked the flavor better this way :)
