Sets [DMH] Duskmourn: House of Horror

Jeez! What a banger! This seems tailor made for my cube. - More discard enablers in Green to trigger Inti, Raven Man, Converter, … - More cards that can be discarded/milled for value in Green - More zombies for Gravecrawler - More targets for Berserk/Embercleave/Rancor Excited to try it out!

What a wild one! Some abilities that don't tap are useless to copy (like Carrion Feeder), but tap abilities are pretty varied. This looks like it adds some nice redundancy to some archetypes, but it is tough to predict how well it will perform in any given draft. Artifacts matter Emry, Lurker...

I like this 1 drop. With the increase in enchantment creatures, it can be a real beating and a nice enchantment payoff. A 3 mana 3/3 (with GY and counter synergies). Or 5 mana for 2 4/4s that mill 2 with the counters. 7 mana 3 5/5s, etc. Very potent and I like having the option of playing...

    Card/Deck Low Power Card Spotlight

The floor is higher, but so is the variance. Depending on you opponent’s deck, you can have wildly different outcomes. Sometimes it will be on par with the ninjas you mentioned, other times you will hit Verdant Force or whatever. Could be exciting, could be annoying, depends on the person.

    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

Learned a new word, thank you! The decks are taken from my 1vs1 high power, high synergy cube so they should fit your criteria. Please share your experiences after trying again.

I'm not in the market for this, but I like all the themes it ties together. Manifest Dread fuels the GY and can work with Blink effects. The +1/+1 counters is a common theme and it works with your artifacts. It's also 10 power for 6 mana, so all that is probably moot as the opponent will be dead...

    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

Absolutely love this card. It's cheap to cast and the ceiling is insane. It works with a lot of what your BG section is likely to care about. Stinkweed Imp Gurmag Angler Woe Strider Fanatic of Rhonas Simian Simulacrum Dredge, Delve, Escape, Eternalize and Unearth are easy ways to fuel the...

I've seen some before and some are actually nice. It's still just more upkeep and stuff on the board to keep track of. If you still have my e-mail (or discord), I'd love to see them :)

100%. Can I interest you in John Oliver playing dress up? Seriously though, this card is gas. The art and keyword counters aren't my personal favorite, but having a second almost incidental The Ozolith is fantastic. Working with Earthcraft is pure upside. Edit: Really like this one too for...

Missed this one back in June Seems very pushed as any sort of blocking becomes a nightmare. Mostly thinking of the Wildfire enjoyers for this one. However it's a double edged sword as Red is going to be the color that has a tough time dealing with it since the removal is damage based.

Some neat one drops too Seems very fair, but interesting. You can reanimate on turn 4, but you have all the benefits of being a creature, mostly attacking and recursion. A cheap self-mill engine that becomes relevant later in the game. Being an artifact is generally a plus and it's a fun...

Oh hello! Solid baseline stats with a very obtainable recursion condition. Kill an opponent’s creature and swing for 3 or aristocrat your stuff and attack. Zombie creature type is always a plus, but that art is an eyesore. Barf!

This guy looks fun! There are a lot of decisions around it. - You can play it after blockers to surprise draw cards (one per creature!). - You can use it as a flash blocker. - Play it as a threat in a control mirror EOT. - Use it as sacrifice fodder and still have it stick around. This is a...

    Nanonox's 1vs1 cube

Thanks for sharing! Your question had me thinking of why I went in the noncreature payoff direction and this is what I've got. I see two "obvious" approaches: 1. Have a majority of noncreature payoffs with a few specific ones to pull you into a specific archetype (spells, artifacts...

I think I like Mockingbird here. It's a scalable evasive threat which seems perfect for a lower powered cube. I can either apply pressure early or respond to my opponent late.

    Brad Loves Eldrazi

I was experimenting with a cube that was Dragons vs Phyrexians vs Legends. Your historic idea would have been a boon as it would have allowed me to use artifacts and sagas to diversify the archetypes. You could have something similar where it's Dragons (or whatever) vs Eldrazis with the historic...

Do you increase the size of the draft pool to account for the 3 extra creatures you need per Chimera?

    Nanonox's 1vs1 cube

You are right that it is easy, even if symmetrical. If I am to stay consistent and exclude Opposition because of how easy it is to use, then Armageddon should stay out as well. As I usually do when exploring an archetype, I push hard then scale back. I am now leaning towards not actually...

    Nanonox's 1vs1 cube

That's really cool as initially it was from Erik's, inscho's, dbs's and your cubes that I drew inspiration, will gladly steal more ideas :P. First thing I notice is that you were brave enough to go down to 360. I've been meaning to, but keep postponing as cuts are tough. I'd love to hear your...

I see people taking Yawgmoth’s Will before LED and I would do the opposite. Breach, draw 7s, Auriok Salvagers all work with it giving you more outs than with Yawg’s Will (Dark Ritual being the other for Will). I would have taken Mana Leak and Mishra’s Factory from ravnic’s cube. Low commitment...
