    Card/Deck Low Power Card Spotlight

? Because he states fixing is necessarily for two colour decks, which I state is not (but they are great to have). One can make this argument for any pick, in extremum you could say this for creatures. I think interaction is great. When did I argue for this? I warned for land destruction in a...

    Card/Deck Low Power Card Spotlight

We have had this discussion indeed before. There you made the wrong statement, as you do again, that non-basics are necessary for two colour decks. They are not needed, check the math. And yes of course, all duals is better than 8-8 basics. But with these 8-8 basics you could have most (yeah...

    Card/Deck Low Power Card Spotlight

I for one like wasteland. I like counterplay, if you want to brake the basic rule, e.g., being greedy and play non-basic lands to be able to play more colours/utility lands then there should be a risk to it. That risk is getting wastelanded. In my book there is no free lunch. Is wasteland...

    Card/Deck Low Power Card Spotlight

I think everything is fair game. Thing is, in a bounce format some cards get much stronger. Like land destruction. That has nothing to do with other feels bads. In normal magic land destruction decks can feel bad, but in a bounceformat land destruction is much stronger. It is possible to have...

    Card/Deck Low Power Card Spotlight

You are spot on. Thing is, the threats need to be seriously low power to void the set back of losing a bouncer. Seas is stronger due to colour screwing and weaker since it can be mitigated by bouncing the seased one. But the threats have to be really, really low powered to give the time to do...

    Card/Deck Low Power Card Spotlight

Thing is, the bounce lands enter tapped. From my experience with quite low powered decks from invasion block, bouncing/destroying a tapland (or gasp a lair) is quite a setback.

Mild? I like playing rough but imagine this: Opponent on the play:land one drop. You: land one drop. Oppo: one drop bounce land You: one drop bounce Oppo: land, seas one drop You: one colourless drop and bounce? It is sinkhole basic land plus draw as Brad says. That is not mild. Especially not...

    General Custom Cards: The Lab

Are you sure you want that? Let's break it down: Combo (Reanimator and show and tell) are often decks that have A+B (+C), where A is the card you want to cheat, B is the one that cheats A, and C is the card that gets A or B. Those decks work because the power when one has both A and B trumps the...

Funny everyone is talking about the story. I always liked that the mechanics got a fresh twist/extension with the second/third set in the block. Furthermore, having more cards with the same mechanics makes it easier to avoid power creep.

That's easy to spot so thumbs up from me! Just like colour tribal, but not type line tribal. That last one saddens me a bit, because I do like it. But it is so easy to mess up.

In my cube the creatures are weak compared to the spells. Still, the creatures are the ones that win the game. There is another catch which I already mentioned, strong creatures lead to fast and unforgiving games. There is another reason I do not like strong creatures combined with the mana...

    General Incidental Tribal/Theme Support Cards

I like tribal, but a small warning: people (or at least I) are not used to looking at the type line. This is why legendary (as fun as these cards sometimes are) and tribal (which is fun) are sometimes a pain.

    General "Looking for a card"-Thread

It could be that it is the powerband/lack of answers why some of these cards are no fun to play against. Still, some of the these powerful cards are so much value that one is behind no matter what (or one has to trump a very strong card with an even stronger one).

Was it too strong or too weak? In my cube it is just average.

Maybe not a paradox, but great information for cube creators. Strong creatures nix a lot of fun strategies. Thing is, the strength of each card/archetype/deck has to be in balance with each other. I like my creatures on the weak side of the spectrum, but only 1/1's or a lot of walls is no fun...

Hmm, good question. Could happen when one's game is interrupted by (small) life?

Could be, but not necessarily. I said theoretically, it is likely not a great idea but it was an example to show that cards trump the rules.
