    General [DOM]Dominaria

my favourite cube archetype to this day is Eternal Gifts, a UGx pile with Gifts, narrow answers, and tons of recursion. Any deck with a Profane Command + E-Wit loop is my jam.

    Hearthstone

Amplive just hit Legend with a build that's really strong against all the Paladins on ladder. I think it looks good but don't have Geddon. https://twitter.com/_WildHS/status/981981267573927936

    Hearthstone

This seems like as good a time as any to mention that I'm the editor (and Paladin expert) for Vicious Syndicate's Wild Data Reaper reports. We just put out another one of our monthly reports on Hearthstone's only eternal format, Wild. There's a meta overview, featured decklists, and analysis of...

General Front Page Article - card kingdom's starter cube

Yeah, a number of the card choices here seem like they're also working at cross purposes to sell cards that don't move very quickly. Nothing wrong with that; it's probably what lets card kingdom spend employee time on sleeving/assembling the cubes. But once a buyer has their cube, I would hope...

General Front Page Article - card kingdom's starter cube

Hey! Card Kingdom put out a 'starter cube' - presleeved, reasonably budget while still powerful, comes with basics. A perfect starter cube product IMO! The fact that they've done this is really cool and will probably introduce a number of people to cube design who'd previously considered it to...

    General The Draft Exchange

I drafted OZB's Crumble Pie cube and came away with something pretty cool. www.cubetutor.com/cubedeck/890974[/url]"] Ones 1 Bloodsoaked Champion 1 Bonesplitter 1 Brainstorm 1 Cloudfin Raptor Twos 1 Bloodghast 1 Contraband Kingpin 1 Perilous Myr 1 Porcelain Legionnaire 1 Scrapheap Scrounger 1...

    General Fight Club

I really like the new Kozilek: Kozilek, the Great Distortion He 'protects himself', which justifies putting a few cards into setting him up, there's an on-cast trigger just in case making {c}{c} is viable in your environment. Big dude, hard to block, harder to kill, but (sometimes) dies to...

One Pack One Pick (p1p1 thread)

oh boy, if you don't know how good he was...dude was a great common in the original draft format and imo if you kept the slow grindy nature of it it's a first pick in this pack

    whydirt's Combo-ish Cube

I think it scales to your format quite nicely. Without moxen it's a strong buildaround but not an unfair one, I think. I ran no mentor 2 YP for a long time, and it was good, but my cube's current iteration runs 2 YP 1 Mentor. haven't drafted it IRL yet but i'll keep an eye on mentor's...

    whydirt's Combo-ish Cube

I run a successful Ascendancy archetype. Key roleplayers: Young Pyromancer Monastery Mentor Sram's Expertise Grim Lavamancer Mother of Runes Frantic Search Jace, Vryn's Prodigy Other cards that go nuts in the archetype: Magus of the Bazaar Adorned Pouncer Whirler Rogue Goblin Rabblemaster...

    Card/Deck Low Power Card Spotlight

It doesn't as written work with Bestow, right? I ended up with a lot of Bestow guys in my format to fill a number of the aura slots.

isn't tree of redemption, like, a fucking limited atomic bomb like, it's a lot of stall power i have no opinion on this topic

Right, but it's important to remember that most people who play Magic exclusively play casual Commander games. For them, one copy of a mythic is enough.

    General Custom Cards: The Lab

I expect so. I run untapped one-colour fetchable scrylands and I think they're about as strong as the ABU duals. This seems similarly powerful and probably at least as good as the shock lands at scry 1. Repeatable scry 2 is ridiculous; we've seen it cost 3 plus more up front in Crystal Ball...

    General On clones

I'm okay keeping it in a relevant tribe. Two, even: E: v1.1 was Merfolk Shapeshifter, then I remembered that I wanted to do something like Riptide Laboratory in the main cube. Also 2/3 existing selkies are Merfolk Wizards.

    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

I play Time Spiral as my blue control power slot. It's been really good but a positive effect on the format imo. Sometimes control decks end up being too 'cute' and falling apart in-game; Time Spiral pushes a kind of raw density of answers control deck that I think is good to have in the metagame.

    General Fight Club

Daretti is bonkers but answerable. Very fun, works in environments where 'the artifact deck' isn't chock full of brown borders. Dom kicked my ass with a Daretti / trading post goodstuff deck the other day. T3 make a token t4 "do nothing", but the staggershock murder is really good if you're...
