Well, the repeatable life pay effects can become pretty painful in a deck with no life gain. Cards like Phyrexian Reclamation or Graveborn Muse actually do make me prioritize life gain more. And they make it less likely that I would pick up more and more cards, that cost me life. So a {W}{B}...

Would you guys run it over Haunted Plate-Mail? Because this card is in the slot, I would else maybe play the Idol in. I already run Chimeric Mass (not going to cut it, the flexibility is huge) and I don't want 3 dudes like this.

In aggro, going down to 1 card is nothing. In a grindy sacrifice deck, it seems a bit tougher, but still realistic in mid to late game.

I really like the idea of raising the number of cool black cards with life payment and combining them with white life vain. Kinda intrigued to try something like this now. There are just too many cool archetypes for one cube.

If braids and smokestack are fine power level wise, you should not worry about call being too strong and unfun :P

How likely is a deck with no non-zombie creatures in your meta? I think a lock with Reassembling Skeleton or Tenacious Dead is much more likely in my cube, even though I run a decent number of Zombies.

I considered adding this card a few times, never actually tried it. I like this card, because it works with Zombies or just with any sacrifice strategy. It is exactly the kind of tribal effects I enjoy in cube - not too linear and playable or even desireable potentially for decks with zero...

On a side note: What are the best payoff cards for lifegain I only run this one, which is good in Tokens/Aggro because it enables itself: Path of Bravery I also used to run this guy: Divinity of Pride Was pretty strong, actually even too much in terms of stats while having super narrow...
