I had Shadowborn Demon for a while myself, too. Its main problem, aside from not having an alternate two mana sorcery mode, is that it's not all that easy to fill up your own graveyard in cube. In control decks with low creature counts, particularly, this makes him into a five-mana Murder. So...

Good call. When faced with the same decision, I actually cut Shriekmaw, as it doesn't fit with any of my supported tribes. But Lucas convinced me that control needed some juicing, so I added it back in and reluctantly axed Nekrataal. Still not sure if that's right.

It was sad when I cast with Thundermaw Hellkite with what I thought was enough to pay for Brian's Rune Snag. But my own copy of Snag in my graveyard put an end to those hopes.

Honestly, 2 cmc guys with 'just' power and toughness that cost 1C are a dime a dozen in every colour. So the multicolour ones don't really interest me all that much. The gold ones have to do something special before they catch my eye enough to warrant a slot.
