    Card/Deck Counterspells

My hopes went up when they printed Lapse of Certainty in white a few years back, as a way to give other colours access to different kinds of counterspells. But even though it wasn't any good - three mana is a lot to hold up in low-curve white weenie - Wizards decided it was still too powerful to...

The Chinese Zodiac might say that this is the Year of the Horse, but they're wrong. 2014 is the Year of the Goat.

    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

I want Kalonian Tusker to be good. I doubt there's space for both it and Strangleroot Geist in most green sections, though. CC for any two-drop section is notoriously rough. I've never thought about running Predator Ooze, but I actually have run Dungrove Elder before. I'm so embarrassed...

    Card/Deck Counterspells

I think I've run it on and off over a period of two years, and it was mostly unplayable. But that's likely a product of my cube being 50% creatures, 15% lands, and only 35% spells. Even against the midrange or slower control decks, you wanted a more universal counter, because they were as...

Article ChannelFireball: Ghost of Cubing Future

To be clear, I'm not advocating for power levels lower than that of retail Limited environments, or even approaching anything like Core Set draft. I agree that Merfolk of the Pearl Trident is not a compelling card in any Constructed or Limited metagame. If you consider retail Limited at one end...

Article ChannelFireball: Ghost of Cubing Future

That's more a symptom of GRBS than of curve or power level. I mean, the lower your power level gets, the more likely it is that otherwise fair cards end up ruining someone's day. Scars limited was bad for a lot of reasons, not the least of which was the preponderance of six-mana bombs - that...

    General CBS

At that point I'd rather just play Mario Kart or something, ya know? If games are gonna be determined by random chance, at least let everyone play together simultaneously, and have it be done with in five minutes rather than five hours.

    Card/Deck Counterspells

For what it's worth, I really like having one Stymied Hopes in Theros draft. People are always tapping out all over the place and nobody ever sees it coming (including me, when the shoe is on the other foot). I'm not sure how this knowledge directly translates over to cube and Mana Tithe, though.

If someone ever offers you a chance to play their cube mixed with Vanguard avatars, just quietly walk away and remind yourself that those people can't be your friends anymore.

    Card/Deck Vamps

Bloodthrone Vampire is very good in these here parts, but if you guys already run (multiple) Carrion Feeder, I can't see her being any better than the premiere aggro sac outlet. Viscera Seer was awful every time I've tried him.

    Konge's Cube

Yeah, that's fair. Maybe Sanctifiers should get the boot in that case. Four mana is a bit unwieldy, and you might just have convinced me to cut it from my own cube. It really only ever makes the cut in control decks, after all. Spear is nice to have around as an anthem effect, especially since...

    Konge's Cube

I like all of your adds, except I'm not sure what you're trying to do with Leonin Arbiter. Is he there to hose fetchlands? Tutors? Either way, I found he was a pretty ineffectual hatebear back in the Standard days, even when you could pack four of them. Some people on this forum have tried Aven...

    Card/Deck Vamps

I love tribal as much as the next Timmy, but I'm skeptical if there's anything of substance to vampires. Like Jason, I'm not sure what the payoff is here. Nocturnus seems poison principle-y. Pretty sure that if you really want to make Kalastria Highborn work, you should probably be looking at a...

My friend's cube had Ultra Pro perfect fits inside of KMC Matte Blacks. They were very smooth.

Yeah, along with Cloudgoat, Siege-Gang Commander also falls into the Looks Innocent But Really Just Promotes Durdly Midrange Gameplay category of cards. I cut 'em and never looked back.

Article ChannelFireball: Ghost of Cubing Future

Like the others, I was convinced by the argument in favour of lowering a cube's curve to increase decision density, but I'm also not entirely sure that a high power level is necessarily to achieve that. I wish Calvin would get the hell back on these forums, because I suspect his intentionally...

General Print this Wizards! (So I can put it in my cube)

Yeah, I get the sense this is probably holding people back. I don't know what an MSE file is, but do you have a bunch of card images that you could upload to an image sharing site? Having all your cards up on a page somewhere should net you a better response.
