Speaking only for myself, I think that having cube on a grand stage like the Player's Championship last year was a great idea in theory to expose the cube to a wider, mainstream audience. In practice, though, the large, 720-card MTGO list is somewhat.. unrefined, and the decks that were drafted...

    Card/Deck Lin Sivvi

My regular playgroup barrrrrrrrely accepts the fact that I'm breaking singleton, and they're aghast whenever they learn I've cut Yet Another Cube Staple ("But but but, if you just run more artifact removal, Swords / Wurmcoil are very fair"!). Cube culture around here is still stuck in some kind...

Pendrell's Cube (576 cards, powered, uses a test pool)

Reprisal, Selesnya Charm, Killing Wave, Mark of Mutiny (and various treason effects, with sac outlets), Revenge of the Hunted (kind of..?!) I think you have to keep in mind what problem you're trying to solve, though. Are you increasing the amount of aggro-only removal because aggro decks are...

    405 Mostly Modern Cube

Yeah, Stronghold would be my call as the weakest of the Boros lot, though after several drafts, I've been a little underwhelmed by Boros Charm as well. Plus, with all of those cards heavily leaning toward the aggro end of the spectrum, it might not hurt to throw slower R/W decks a bone. One good...

Pendrell's Cube (576 cards, powered, uses a test pool)

Sweeeeeeeeet. Really solid list of cuts there, Vince! What's your new target cube size - 500ish? Moving a midsized cube like yours from powered to unpowered is a huge change with all sorts of ripple effects, so we'd love to hear back on how it's received by your playgroup. (Though from the...

    405 Mostly Modern Cube

I like the look of those cuts! By and large, I feel like your cube will be better and more consistent by trimming down to 405 from 450. Perhaps counter-intuitively, I think you're enabling more archetypes, not less, with a stronger, smaller core list. With some of the questionable artifact cards...

    405 Mostly Modern Cube

I'll second the vote for Tec Edge. It's a necessary safety valve here for decks that go overboard on nonbasic lands, especially when there are powerful effects like Kessig Wolf Run and Celestial Colonnade around. The main problem is finding the time to draft a colourless land over the course of...

    [360][Modern] - Stubob's Cube

Let us know how the new cards perform, particularly Reaver, Sovereign, and Pyromancer. Kind of sad to see Earthquake go, but as you say, a miracle's a miracle, and room is tight at 360. I've been using Terminus for a while now, and it's actually very fair, maybe too fair. Most times it's just a...

Pendrell's Cube (576 cards, powered, uses a test pool)

Yep yep, I've just enabled read-only sharing of my cube list sheet. I've never really done any housekeeping with the intention to invites guests over, though, so please watch your step and beware of the mess in there. Also, I don't know if the formulas show up properly in read-only mode or not...

Pendrell's Cube (576 cards, powered, uses a test pool)

Yep, breaking singleton is the other good way to address the paucity of strong one drops, and is something I found beneficial to do even at 360 cards. Maybe one day they'll print as many Gravecrawler functional reprints as Llanowar Elves, but until then, it's sweet to push black aggro in a...

Pendrell's Cube (576 cards, powered, uses a test pool)

Hey Vince, that's a lot of interesting data to pore over. Do you keep track of the how much removal there is in your cube, as a percentage? Looking at the winning Esper list, it's not entirely surprising that the archetype is the one to beat at the moment, as that deck contains nearly 50%...

    405 Mostly Modern Cube

Ooh, good call on Rise from the Grave. I don't know that I've really used that card outside of M10 limited, so its wording threw me for a loop there. If messing with your opponent's graveyard is something your group enjoys, I'd also recommend Puppeteer Clique, especially if you have sacrifice...

    405 Mostly Modern Cube

MODERN! Mostly! *High five* Always happy to connect with other kindred souls. It's scary how we both independently arrived at many of the same conclusions, to bolster our Modern cubes. Ignore the ban list; allow the newly printed Planechase and Commander cards; bring the Onslaught fetchlands...

    Forum signatures

This is good feedback, xyz. Signatures are meant to be used as something of a self-promotional tool, and while most people use it to link their cube lists, that certainly isn't a requirement. Because we don't really want sigs that link to random blogs and such eating up a lot of real estate in a...

General BenS's draft article / Cube

I enjoyed that article a lot, too. In a weird way, I kind of like that BenS only writes twice a year, because you know when he puts pen to paper that he has some important wisdom to impart on us peons. I've definitely been drafting in what BenS calls "easy mode" my entire Magic career. I.. I...

600 Unpowered, Lower Curve, No Planeswalkers, Synergy Leaning

Gonna agree with Vince here. I did a mock draft or two, and the fixing feels like it's lacking in quantity. It was hard to justify going more than two colours, as I didn't see enough duals to enable a light splash of a third colour.
